In the early 2000's, my sister passed away listening to his song Bakit pa ba?. That was the time where bands and Divas ruled the airwaves of Philippine Music scene. RNB music was an American thing but JayR came and stamped his place permanently. Now, every nook and corner of the PH Islands first learnt his style and then moved on create their own. He did the same where Regine did her birits, Jaya her soul music, Lea and her musical. Francis M with rap, I'm sure KZ is currently building her own. and there were Filipino great singers that came before them as well and contributed great things too and help shaped our music scene. Young as it is in terms of styles and genres but it is also diverse. So many fish in the pond with colors too and you wouldn't know which one to scoop out first...
