Parting Soliloquy is about the fear of inevitably losing ones parents. The lake is representative of the barrier between life and death. The figures on the other side are the characters parents that he cannot reach. The cry of 'Please don't leave me here' is him not wanting to be left in the world without the only two people he was ever sure that loved him.

Love this channel and concept. I'm not a vocalist, or even a musician for that matter. But I have a profound interest in the theories and techniques that are the building blocks of the things I enjoy listening to -- metal and metal-adjacent genres being just a few of many. I've watched many musicians and instructors pick apart what's going on with instrumentation and overall composition, but not really anyone go into the vocal parts and techniques the way you do. And even then, they mostly stick to the cleans and avoid the harsh. Going out on a limb -- have you considered doing other styles of music that feature harsh vocals? Screamo is a very obvious choice, and one that I think would be interesting for several reasons. Beside the fact that it is my favorite (lol), I am curious to hear you break down the actual techniques and outcomes of the vocalists. There is a strong DIY component of the genre and other related hardcore offshoots, and I'd like to hear your take on if/how that spills over into what the vocalists are doing (or aren't). Are these guys just shredding their vocal chords, or are they applying the same techniques as perhaps someone with some formal training? Regardless, great content man.

Hey, could you please analyse the song "frontier of perception" by a band called Cytotoxin? There is a unique vocal sound right in the beginning that I always wondered how he did it.
