Hi all, I hope you enjoy my latest Dimash video! I have seen a lot of your comments complaining about my editing/pausing - unfortunately i have had to change my editing style due to many videos being blocked; I have tried to explain before but I’m not sure the message is reaching everyone. I ask that you please take this into consideration before watching the video and before commenting. Much love, Nina.

I don't know if you'll see this or not but i just wanna say something you probably don't know . This was on Russian TV and in these Soviet countries they sometimes edit the song before airing it , sometimes pitch correction , some times dubbing some parts and in extreme cases replacing the audio as a whole with a pre recorded version , Do I think they should ?? Hell no , Why are they doing that ?? I don't know for sure . But please as a musician and a vocal coach if you ever suspect that there is something wrong with one of Dimash performances please go check other versions of the same song just for yourself and on your own time , Dimash always performs any song multiple times . I know you might've suspected that here or in other songs but after following you for a while now , I know you're smart enough to know if you say your truths some hateful fanatics out there will disrespect and insult you . Always stay safe and healthy , God bless you .

@@kolgerrard1964 now that you mention this, I have actually heard the same thing. What ever the reason if they are doing it, must just be the way that they operate. Also on one of the videos it said that in Shenzhen he sang back stage rather than on stage, maybe he felt unwell, but as you know Dimash he will perform no matter the situation. Either way the integrity of his singing is pretty good even outside of Soviet areas. The only time I see his tempo so to speak drop is when he has really exhausted his vocals and he may sing a song smarter by replacing higher notes with notes that are a little more comfortable to him. Also you will notice that if you watch Unforgettable day performed at the Singer competition he tried to go for the intense whistle note but very quickly switched and did something operatic. This is something to keep in mind, he can shift his voice very quickly to suit how he feels in terms of if he can hit the note at the point. Take that version and the Gakku version and check it out. Dimash is human, of course he is not perfect, but he loves singing and call me wrong but if the Soviet countries want to replace stage performances with pre recorded tracks then so be it. Prime example is that Avril Lavigne is a brilliant artist but she is not good sounding on stage. I never wanted to believe that till I watched it on TV some years back and I almost cried - not really but you get the idea. If anyone feels unsure about Dimash - just check this out - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYC2hJiLjpaop5I

This was a very nice analysis, Nina! I like how you took a moment to appreciate his delivery, by saying that "we shouldn't be getting used to him". Indeed, this might be a trivial performance for Dimash, but it's still an impossible task for most singers!! If I would recommend another Dimash performance, I would go for Samaltau in the Silk Road Film festival. It's a traditional Kazakh folk song of the story of a soldier who is wandering in the vast plains of Kazakhstan, having left his family behind, not knowing what he is going to face. It's probably the most "narrow" Dimash performance in terms of range, but the production is epic and Dimash's voice is majestic in such a way that I think his delivery there is something unlike any other performance. It's one of my favorite songs among his covers!

Love how you pay attention to the entire musical performance, background instruments and all. Most just focus on the singer and their voice. Very interesting. (My favourite part of Love of Tired Swans is the end, when he goes from those dark notes to the sharp 'twang' as you call it, as he goes down on his knees. It just made my jaw drop first time I heard it.)

You won't be listening to his music on the radio or seeing him often on Western television, but this artist's fan base is larger and more loyal than some of the most famous and international pop stars. People will fight you online if you pronounce the wrong name, your fans will spend hours watching your videos, opening fan clubs around the world and leaving long comments on KZbin with the story of each song. They are obstinate and well prepared. My question was necessary at this point. What made these people so close to him, and what does he have that other artists don't? He doesn't need paid advertising because his fans will do it for free. They genuinely love this artist so much that they want to make him known at all costs. Some claim he provides them to overcome depression, others say he has changed their lives with his music, some fans even believe he is an angel or a superhuman. If you send in that Michael Jackson had some diehard fans, Dimash fans, who call themselves Dears, are clearly above them all. As soon as I heard his voice, I was immediately impressed in 2017. No wonder his fans are obsessed, his voice is incredible and, at first glance, he also seemed like a very humble person. The 26-year-old Kazakhstan artist reached stardom for the first time after participating in some national competitions and spreading his fame abroad, taking second place in the Chinese program - I Am A Singer 2017-. In this show, he was the youngest participant to compete against established and professional Chinese artists. One of the songs I heard him sing was a popular "S.O.S d'un terrien en détresse". A French song by Daniel Balavoine. I was immediately impressed by his incredible technique and delivery. His vocal training is formally classic, but he can sing pop songs extremely well. Your choice of original songs and covers is never obvious and always leaves the listener in awe. What shocks me the most is the use of the vocal fry technique. He manages to hit super low notes and jump to highs so perfectly, without ever failing. Above all, the most impressive feature of his voice is the use of the "whistle". I never heard a man use this technique before Dimash. Sorry Mariah, but her whistles are incredible. You just need to listen to his songs for yourself, because it is impossible to explain this talent with words. His vocal range is incredible. Its length is 6 octaves and 5 semitones, ranging from a low A1 to an incredible D8. Observing this, the highest note male record is an F # 8 and Dimash is only 3 semitones from him, I wonder if one day he would try to beat the record. Another thing that caught my attention, was the perfect pitch always impeccable . He is probably the only singer who has never been challenged on any score, which is why many people have given the nickname "Alien". But impeccable technique and interpretation are not Dimash's only qualities. We learned about his humanity at the -Best show in the world-, a reality show competition, where he competed in 2019. After a few episodes, when Dimash learned that he needed to compete with the kids, he decided to give up. He explained to the crowd that he was unaware of any competition with children when he signed the contract, and such an action would have been against his morale. Incredibly, that explanation was not included in the broadcast episode, which left us perplexed after listening to RuPaul, or I must call it the "Paul Rude" explosion. Dimash's resignation was, in my opinion, an altruistic and humble act. It takes a great man to give up his dreams to maintain his integrity, and that is what we saw in this incredible artist. The American show increased the popularity of the Kazakh singer abroad, so much so that one of his songs, in Kazakh language, debuted on MTV USA in October 2020. The love for his country and his honesty are always visible in all his performances. Each of his concerts always includes cultural aspects related to his country, such as the use of private instruments for accompaniment or traditional clothing and singing styles. I think the choice to sing in your native language was anything but casual. I believe that one of his goals is to increase the popularity and recognition of his country. After gathering my thoughts, I realized that I was right about my assumptions. Your last Instagram post just mentioned: It is necessary to understand that I have become who I am now, mainly thanks to Kazakhstan. Because I grew up in Kazakhstan, I ate Kazakh dishes, I studied with a Kazakh vocal educator, I was raised in a Kazakh family. And the main stimulus that moves me is my nation and my country! After all, I think we have now answered my previous question. What made this artist so close to his fans? And what does he have that others don't? An incredible voice is not enough today. Social media has brought artists closer to their audience, who want to make sure that whoever is following is someone to relate to. Artists like Dimash tend to gain millions of followers around the world, not only for their talent, which is definitely the main reason, but also for their humility and the way they interact with others. When people feel closer to an artist, they tend to want to know more about him. Dimash is talented enough, mysterious enough and, at the same time, so realistic that he could easily be your next-door neighbor. In a world where talent and simplicity often go hand in hand, Dimash is a real pleasure for everyone. For these reasons, I became a fan of the artist, not only admiring his art and technique, but also applauding a way he is dealing with his success. Greetings from Portugal

His phrasing is amazing, His volume starts to swell, Then falls so smoothly in a slide, That takes his pitch as well. His breathy quiet vocals, Will whisper from the start, Then the volume of his belting, Comes crashing through your heart. He has such full control, of his vocal's vast expanse, He can bring you down to weeping, Then raise you up to dance! So savor Dimash's talents, The concerts then and now, As the lovely Nina once exclaimed, We only need say "Wow".

All of it are as different from show to show as lady Gaga’s appearance. You’ve got to start not only listen but look at the changing looks from China to Russia. His skin is tanner here. His hair is blacker and straighter. He looks russian or Albanian. With his suit as is most always he is dapper. He is a Ken doll for that designer he has on his staff. She makes his clothes. She made the white coat with the black trees on it that he wore in the New York show that the producer of the movie creators the past had him wear in the mv across endless dimensions. Quite frankly people need to already have listened to these songs uninterrupted FIRST then you go watch reactors analyze and point out parts - which require stopping (plus yes the blocked/copyrights are getting rougher). Another reactor states first thing (and writes it on the beginning of his video..."go here and watch the whole song interrupted first before watching this" (includes the link). Just a suggestion 💜😊💜. Dear Nina)) Dimash always sings live. And it sounds just like you hear it. His concerts are something not likely. Once his microphone didn't work at the end of the song, apparently even the technique refuses to believe in the way he sings, and he finished the song without a microphone. And the concert was in a closed stadium))) you could hear it even in the back rows. This is an unforgettable experience)

I think you chose the best version of this song. There's a music video, as well, but I felt that the videographer had his own story to tell that had nothing to do with the lyrics, and I found it to be distracting. Dimash, Dimash... what are we to do with you? Who else in this wide world could deliver this song as you did? I love the way he blended techniques from different genres. Everything about this performance satisfied my soul. Alas, it is not true that there are only two kinds of people - Dimash fans and people who haven't discovered him. My old college roommate and his wife were unimpressed. I sent them 'SOS,' 'Sinful Passion' and 'Love Is Like a Dream.' Their reaction: 'he's schmaltzy.' They are not fans. I thought communicating emotion is what music is *supposed* to do. No idea, no art, no message will unite all of us. Someone, somewhere, will disagree. We are a divided, quarrelsome, cantankerous species.

Nina, perhaps you could suggest for first time listeners or those who possibly have not heard the song to first listen to the song in it's entirety and then come came back for your analysis. You could post the link below. I really enjoy seeing the things that catch your attention about Di's voice and performance. Thanks for another informative reaction.

Nina, I don't usually comment (preferring to just sit back and enjoy the videos) but I had to note your attention to detail. It's SO spot on. Love it. Really makes me feel like I'm experiencing the performance for the 1st time again (despite watching countless reactions/analysis - I know I have a problem lol) Thank you though for your unique perspective and wonderful analysis. So glad I subscribed a long time ago 🙏 ❤
