Serene...I'm a 78 year old retired teacher, musician, singer, performing artist, and Dimash has resurrected my old musical spirit. Just an info note about him: He was a child prodigy born to professional singer parents. He had perfect pitch at age 2, began piano and voice training at 5, and first performed at 6. By 15 he was winning Euroasian singing competitions and constantly performing while finishing at The Aktobe High School for the Performing Arts. He was launched to superstardom through his amazing performances in the 2017 Chinese tv singing competition "I am Singer" and now at 26 he has over 10 million members in his fan club. He as also earned a B.A. in Classical Voice, an M.A. in Contemporary Voice, and an M.A. in Musical Composition. He was raised in a traditional Kazakhstan cultural style which engenders a work ethic, family closeness, and humility. With his attitude, passion for music, gifted voice and musical talents, and vast training, I call him "the perfect storm" for musical greatness. He is highly trained in classical vocal techniques yet his favorite artist is Michael Jackson. He is a technique-blending/genre-blending 21st century musical phenomenon.

Yes, but a few corrections. Actually, referencing a documented interview with his Grandparents, Dimash perfect pitch was determined at the age of 5 years old. Dimash graduated in 2014 from Music Institute in Classical Music with Major in Vocal Opera (Bel Canto). Dimash continued his education with University studies in Contemporary Music and graduated in 2018 with a Major in Contemporary Pop & Jazz Vocal. In the Summer of 2020, Dimash graduated with a Master of Music Composition. Dimash has been invited for 2020/2021 to continue his doctorate studies in Music at the same University. Dimash calls his style an "Innovation" [Neo-Classicism] in the Classical Crossover Genre. Dimash combines many Styles such as Classical (Opera), Contemporary (Modern, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Rap), Estrada and traditional Kazakh folk music.

Dear Serene, Did you really miss the fact that he sang for 24 seconds with one breath at the end? They did play the music louder than the first time he sang Sinful Passion with the remaining members of A-Studio, but if you listen again & just try to listen to his voice you will realize that he keeps going for the 24 seconds. 🎶👱‍♀️👗👠👠💓

yes the music was too loud where dimash did the runs at the 24-second part. And the clip editing was also bad. They shouldve focused solely on Dimash the whole 24 seconds so that the viewers realize he didnt take breath.

Love is like a dream is amazing. Autumn Strong is very emotional and Quairagym-ai is very emotional for Dimash. Marigolds from Kiev concert has his mother crying in the audience. Plenty of emotional ones from him, but also pop songs with dance routines too. By the way, he is 6’3 and obviously very handsome.

Yes, this is 2 years after SOS on Singer 2017 competition... he is still developing his voice and he got even more depth in lower voice. And he got huge fan base first in China and later in Russia and around the globe.

Hello, I’m from Brazil! The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev.

Serene, btw lovely name... 18 mos. ago I experienced the two Dimash songs you have reviewed. Dimash grabs your soul, massages it, and transforms you to a new level in music appreciation. He gets better and better evolving his artistry raising the bar in his profession. His connection with his fans is almost like a synchronized heart beat emotionally. Despite the language his fan base is international and exponentially growing. Love is Like a Dream is a real treat in all 6 octaves with a touch of heaven as a respit. Enjoy the ride!

The translation of the lyrics will give you a shock. He is crying for someone he could not have. Sinful passion. The mid-eastern ululation is a mourning, grieving, sorrowful sound that is heard at funerals in some mid-eastern cultures. He is grieving. If you take that information with you when you listen again, you will be more stunned. He has now what is considered by many vocal coaches to have a 7 octave range.

If u want to hear the highest note u have ever heard watch Dimash Unforgettable Day at GAKKU concert Mr Dimash have the best / most strongest voice on planet 🌎 Mr Dimash was born May 1994 in 🇰🇿Kazakhstan his father is a pop singer his mom is a opera singer when Dimash was 5 years old he went with his mom to opera practice when a voice teacher heard his voice and took him under his wings Mr Dimash is educated in music I believe he have a PHD and he plays several instruments Mr Dimash is incredibly smart / talented Young man he has performed songs in 12 Different Languages those incredible high Notes are simply impossible for male singer he is also big fan of M.J the king of pop by the way Dimash can hit higher notes even higher then whistle note is called the whisper Note D8 it’s so high it’s sounds like a whisper. I love watching those voice Teachers lose their minds over Dimash incredible Talent & I see some Jealousy

Yes for him would be great,i have seen,Dimash would kill it,put his own SPIN that would ??????!!!!!!!+he his off the charts,he would do both voices,which only Dimash can achieve,he is not never been a top CONVENTIONAL SINGER,he is a generational singer,but today and the majority do not even know what they listening to.Most are just great conventional singers,not taking any merit to the great singers,but only Dimash can go from opera to rap,backto pop,jazz,heavy metal,Rock,beautifull angelic melodies,and go from down A and Cs,down there to a D,E AND FS IN A FLASH WITHOUT A CRACK.The only concert that he had a problem to to coming to his knowledge that his grandfather/father,its tradition in his country 1st born is raised by grandparents and it was tgem that officially gave the kick start to a musical school He was in a complete dustress,aad,but decided to do the concert anyhow, but he is goid at just keeping it to standard i stead of going all out,rhank you,i loved your reaction,i am,and like people that know music,understands it and give a reasonable explanation of the quality of tones the young man has and delivers.I have heard it all,but like i said great CONVENTIONAL TOP VOCALIST,BUT THATS JUST IT.!

Nice! Some suggestions though if that resonates. It seems you miss out a lot by looking at the camera though,. For example you almost missed the flutter/Eastern voice part by doing that and you looked over the 24 seconds run with one single breathe, with the amazing slide in the beginning and amazing run in the middle! Most vocal coaches that react to this song at least mention that. No worries though, you're doing great! Just saying that you miss out a bit, and with that, what you offer the viewers that are excited to learn from a reacting vocal coach (that can obviously sing!) could be a bit more. Compliments for the good quality recording (both audio and video)!
