IU is utterly at home on stage. Her fans know she actually respects them and loves entertaining them, and they return the love. It really is a gathering of friends celebrating her wonderful music with the knowledge of how hard she works to make the show the best possible experience for them. It's such a different attitude than in the West. I'm in awe of this woman.

One more comment. Aside from her talents, she also has one of the most technologically sophisticated operations in all of Music. Her computerized ticket sales handle tens of thousands of tickets without a glitch, with algorhythms that identify scalpers trying to buy blocks and shutting them down so more fans have a chance at tickets. IU Lightsticks are Bluetooth enabled and synced to the stadiums so that everyone gets to participate in the lightshow, and if you check out videos from her "Golden Hour" shows just wrapping up, you see drones with colored lights flying patterns to create giant IU symbols in the sky overhead. I love the behind the scenes videos she does about her life backstage, but as a techie geek, I'd sure love a couple highlighting just who are the tech wizards behind her shows. They have taken concert presentations to whole new levels. She really is the Queen of an enormous enterprise dedicated to the most devoted fans in all of music. The only thing that kills me is that we in the West (I'm in LA) can't participate more, but at least I can watch and support her from a distance. She is a shining example of how inspirational talent can be, even on the massive scale she now operates on.

To clarify, IU is the biggest, most popular, and most beloved female singer and songwriter in South Korea. She likely has more records set in her history than any other musical act in the country. She is known as the 'Idol of Idols'. So yes, she is absolutely huge. Justin, you should really, really listen to her sing 'Dear Name' and 'Love Poem'. Thanks for reacting to IU from a fellow UAENA! Her popularity is no joke. Whenever she’s announced to make a comeback usually idols and artists would avoid that month because she takes over the charts, but even then her songs occupy for months and even years with unbreakable records. All of this deserved because she’s a genuine artist with genuine intentions and love for her craft. you should definitely react to some fan cams from iu’s recent golden hour concert. the whole thing was so legendary. she flew around the stadium in a literal hot air balloon. her opening with eight gave me goosebumps. she also performed my sea live for the first time there. her vocals were of course gorgeous, even though she wasn’t in the best condition because of an ear condition that she’s been dealing with for about a year now. (you can see in the videos especially on the second day she has her in-ear out of her left ear pretty often, there were also times where she covered her left ear. she looked uncomfortable at times but she still delivered so well.) would recommend checking out strawberry moon, eight, my sea, you and i, above the time, good day… basically anything lol the entire concert was stunning. just wish i could’ve seen it live myself😢

I first saw of her on IU's Pallet TV show last week 16/9/22, when she had JHOPE first Solo performance from BTS on her show to promote his Jack in the Box live performance at Lallapalooza in Chicago . Her voice was amazing and she sang flawlessly with him.

IU has a special title in Korea. "The only artist who can beat BTS and Blackpink". She got it because the 2 spent 2020 battling for #1 on Google Trends and she dropped a pre-release early 2021 before her album celebrating turning 30, and shot to #1. She basically took Song of the Year with Blueming, beating a BTS song, and would take Song of the Year with the song that beat them on trending AND album of the year at the 2021 MMAs, the award show for Korea's 2nd biggest chart. She's never promoted in the West. This weekend she just did a concert in what's known as the BTS venue (they got special permission to use it) with over 60k fans, giving her the largest solo concert in Korea and it was EPIC. She is spectacular live and really interacts with the audience.

The lightsticks are synced. They're controlled by bluetooth - really common in Korea. But a special note about this concert is they were new and she called her company and was assured there would be enough for both Seoul days. They sold out Saturday so I didn't get one. She noticed some people didn't have them and asked during the concert if there was an issue or if it was just not for us, and we shouted they sold out. During a costume change she called her CEO and later came out and said they had enough which means people bought more so she had the crowd promise to only get ONE. The next day she had a staff count them and checked during the concert and I got my lightstick.

IU has been suffering from a patlous eustachian tube for more than a year now and she recently had her first outdoor stadium concert 2 days straight, due to hot and humid conditions she had very much pain in ear and sound block mostly on 2nd day concert, she took off her earphones and performed many of her musically difficult and high note songs such as Love poem especially my sea. she confessed that she suffered pain since near end of day 1 concert but she kept it all and gave her 1000%. Before this concert she prepared a lot and even practiced more than 4 times in the stadium with her team and even on the day of the concert, she practiced by blocking her ears too as revealed by herself so if anything wrong happens she could still carry on the show and she did perfectly. one practice video of her inside empty stadium was released and my god the echo was huge and very difficult but still she did it. Respect and Proud of her a lot as an Artist😍🙏🍀

You should check out the fancam videos of IU's Golden Hour concert to see the amazing light sticks performance. For the song My Sea, they created the lights to form waves moving up the stadium. For Palette song, the lights moved from one side to the opposite side like a brush painting a palette of colours on a canvass. This is just 2 examples. Someone already commented on the hot air balloon which represented the Strawberry Moon which she performed on it for her song Strawberry Moon. She did this to get close to the audience sitting at the upper tiers because they will only see her as a tiny speck on the stage for most of the concert. Talking about fan service 😍🧡

One more more comment. Since you've now joined our Queen's fandom, you should check out some of her behind the scenes videos. I came to IU through "Hotel Del Luna" and "My Mister" and was blown away by her talent, so started researching her and was stunned by her real-life rags to riches story, but also by her honesty and openness. I was an entertainment writer and covered a lot of stars and they're always a little bit guarded; but you watch IU's videos and she just talks without guarding what she's saying. She'll admit when she's tired, babbles sometimes, doesn't know much outside her work, and gets frustrated with herself, but she also is quick with a smile and a laugh when one of the group around her (make-up, hair-dressers, costumers, or her dancers) tease her a little. She's simply the most open and relaxed multimillionaires (she's worth thirty to forty million) there is in the business. That's one of the reasons people love her so much. She works hard, appreciates her fans (there's one where she surprises a group of about twenty in a coffee shop that came to an exhibit about her and just sits and talks with them), and doesn't put on "I'm A Star" airs. She's actually a normal, sane human that just happens to be incredibly gifted. You and I both know how rare this is. (Probably helps she travels with her brother and Mom keeping an eye on her.) She's also helped inspire other stars such as Blackpink and actress Jung So-Min ("Alchemy of Souls") to do videos showing them at hard at work or just relaxing with their friends, family, or pets, and its wonderful they're willing to share parts of their off-screen life with us. They're talented people without the delusions of grandeur western stars get lost in. It's going to be fascinating to see where IU goes with her career...

This reaction and comment about how difficult it is to sing live especially in a large venue is so timely since IU just performed with 90,000 people for 2 days even with not being able to properly utilize her earpiece due to her ear problem (Patulous Eustachian Tube) which just got worst during her day-1 concert and had to endure until day 2 concert ends. Her professionalism and dedication as a musician and an idol is just amazing. Can't wait to see you review her recent concert The Golden Hour. It was bigger and prettier. The light stick was synchronised before the concert begin and it based on where you seat. And it was sooo beautiful! There are some fan cam videos in KZbin, but there's no official video yet if you want to use it. But you must watch it now!!!!!
