Hi Nina, great review reaction as always. Just a few backstories about this performance. The song was originally written in the late 1970s and was popular not only in the Philippines but around the world in many languages as it's been translated to around 50 or more languages. A few months before this concert, Louie Ocampo was called out by one of the contestants on Tawag ng Tanghalan for criticizing said contestant after her performance. She said, "Composer ka lang", which translates "you're just a composer", belittling what composers do and basically telling him his criticism holds little to no weight. Louie (the composer behind many incredible Regine concerts) launched this event to lift the spirits of Filipino composers and to show everyone why music is the way it is and it's because of the "mere composers" behind every music that our favorite singers perform. Then Sarah Geronimo was slated to perform this song but had a last minute emergency that forced her to cancel. As you've heard Louie say at the end, Katrina just learned the arrangement. It was given to her just 24 hours prior to the concert.

Thankyou Nina for reacting to my recommendation of ANAK live lovely. 😃 Fun fact: Louis Ocampo was playing was the one playing in Regine Velasquez performance of ‘What Kind Of Fool Am I’ where she sings sitting down in a red dress. Also Sarah Geronimo was supposed to be singing this ANAK live performance but was sick so instead of not doing it they asked Katrina to step in and she obliged and learnt this version of the song in one day and saved the day. That’s why Katrina is amazing sweet and humble but strong and powerful at the same time!
