I'm so glad I saw this. The lyricist is my cousin, Freddie Santos, who sadly passed away a year ago. This song is from his musical, First Names, and the composer is Gary Valenciano, who also has his own version here in KZbin that he recorded in tribute of Freddie. Thank you for this reaction. Morissette is so fantastic both as a singer and as a person.

Your "Wow Morri" at 8:51 is so unexpected and beautiful. Often times we visit to see you breakdown to us the technicalities why a song or talent is great. But what's more delightful to see is when Mori affects you personally. And with .with just two simple words -- we could feel how your emotions take over / Delivering a new level of reaction. Once again a great reaction Ma'am Nina.

If you watch the finished Version it's just different camera angles, but you have the Informationen in the finished Version, so the song is from a Christian Musical from the Philippinens, the lyrics are from Freddie Santos who sadly passed away in December 2020, Gary Valenciano did the original arrangement back in 1990 and still sings this song today, he rearranged it for Mori and what a arrangement Dave lamar directed the filming and a bit of editing, Mori was kneeling down, it is said everyone started crying because of the pure emotion, it's Gospel Musical, it takes you to heaven and back finding Jeasus, when Mori goes into that belt it always makes my heart beat faster, love Morissette Amon my favorit singer since 2019 no one beats Mori, there are a few who get close then Mori just up's it again love her, thanks for your reaction it was beautiful.

Mori is sheer perfection with this song. Not only because of the lyrics but the reverence. And knowing Mori is a Christian and is singing with all of her heart and soul to God, makes her so humble and makes the song even more touching and relevant in today's world. She is truly one of a kind and though many may try, they will never reach the level of this young lady's talent!! She's still so under-rated and deserves to be heard, recognized and loved, all over the world!! I watch this video quite often when I'm feeling a bit down. It's a wonderful reminder that we're loved by God and with His love, all is right with the world. Thank you, Nina! I love your reactions to Mori, always!!

It's amazing how a singer with such huge and wide pipes can sing as intimate as this one. Obviously, she didn't do much insane acrobatics here but she is indeed more than amazing. The way she delivers the song is just so powerful, emotional and uplifting. To be honest, I really can't watch nor listen to this song without having tears in my eyes. It just speaks to me like there's something that I have to remind of myself. This is just pure magic. I love this song so much. ✨♥️ Can you please react to her performance of She Used to be Mine? It was written by award winning stage director Freddie Santos. According to him, he was at the rehearsal of a stage comedy when words comes into his head, it was like God wanted to write a song the only problem he doesn't know about music then he called his friend Gary Valenciano to put music out of it.

When he called Gary and asked if he could consider writing music to the lyrics he just wrote, Gary turned him down at first, because he was very sick that time ( Gary a diabetic) But he was surprised when Gary called back and invite him to come. They went upstairs (Gary studio in the attic) According to Freddie, they went up 5pm and didn't come down until 5am. Gary glued to his keyboard the whole time putting melody to the lyrics he just wrote...From time to time, Gary pricked his fingertips so he could measure his sugar level, But because words moved his soul, Gary gave it all, the same fingers pounder keyboards after his finger hurts, but he couldn't stop...God works in mysterious ways!

I have Chromosthesia - I can see sound. And I’ve been OBSESSED with MA since her rendition of Rise Up. As a vocal coach myself, this performance of hers is something that can only be described as transcendental. And yes, you hit the proverbial nail on the head - I never noticed it until now, but there is a powerful young Streisand living underneath that voice. There’s elements of Lea Michele too. Just much much much much much better. You need to listen to her new release.

Since this is from a Musical play, from back in the 90's called First Name, its conversational singing.....originally sang by Gary V....but this was a revived play called....First Name ..Anew to honor the lyrists of this song and producer of the 90's play , Freddie Santos, who passed away last year....so Gary rearranged this specifically for Morissette.

I had to hear the original before I looked at your video. What an immense experience. Just when I wanted to write about the reverb, you named it. I think it is perfect. It creates the right vibe. You can do so much with reverb and delay. Played with that when I used to work at the karaoke bar. You can just put that extra bit on a voice. Scared people that tought that they couldn't sing. They actually sounded quite amazing! In The Voice UK for example they use it so differently. Completely different settings, and I think I don't like it there.

At times ,I was stunned and amazed at the technical delivery of her vocals . This was the first time I've heard this, so perhaps, listening to this in its entirety without breaks, may be different, but I found the song difficult to connect with. It's probable I'm some Muppet with no clue, but I wonder what a singer like Floor Jansen might make of this. I'd suggest her rendition of Shallow from Beste Sangers would be worth a reaction . Cheers ,always enjoy your reactions.
