I’m amazed by how Morten’s voice seemingly hasn’t aged in almost 40 years. I heard a recent performance of Take On Me and It sounds like the original. Same power and range.

no he doesn't. listen to scoundrel days from the 80's and now. His voice it much less chesty than it used to be. Even take on me used to have a more chesty ending for the the "(in a strong tone)i'll be gone in a (head voice)daaay!" now it's always a heady mix voice. To be honest it's a little bit boring compared to his more dynamic youngers days....

This song in particular is so underrated, they used samples and orchestra in the 80's, they rocked then, and rock now. And that orchestra build up is as epic in the album as this unplugged version.

When I first heard/noticed/saw (can't really remember how I stumbled across this), I was like "Nah, a-ha has too much synth, how is this supposed to work?" Well, this is one of the best "MTV Unplugged" ever made. I was wrong. And Morten Harket is SO handsome! 😍 Time can't harm this guy! ❤️

Morten has a wonderful and distinctive voice that combined with the other two band members' talent as songwriters and musicians made a-ha a unique piece of music history in the pop genre. One of them made the same comment as you - Morten's voice floats over the instruments. You really should respond to a-ha's original musical expression. They have so many good songs where Morten contributes with his fantastic ability to interpret and express with his voice. This particular song is a classic from the 80's, it made us leap in the chair when we heard it for the first time. In 'Train of thougt', Morten shows his vocal splendor in his lower range. 'Stay on these roads' is another treat that I would recommend.
