Ado has already held big concerts in the USA, so yes, it’s her on stage, she sings it all live, and talks to the audience between songs. She already speaks English quite well. I saw and heard it all myself

true, but I remember one short that was Ado strugling to speak English, it was so cute and funny cus she was talking great but had problems with some words, I guess it must have been filmed when she was learning or something, or just like me that sometimes forget some words or how to pronounce it (english isnt my firts language, Im from Brazil)

+1 I went to the Chicago concert, and it’s wild!!!
So yes Ado is the one you see on stage, I and many others who managed to get spots at the front at concerts hear her voice from her more than the speakers at times, there are also times where she shouts out at the crowd without the mic. Also shes just got super good stamina where you can listen to her 24th song of the night (like you have here) and you could be convinced that its her first of the night. And there are ways to scream like she does safely, otherwise she wouldn't even have a solid singing voice at this point after the years of singing like that. and finally, if you want you can watch a video called "Ado cringes at her own live performance" where she cringes at herself dancing and saying things like "Why am i even moving like that, i hate it" etc
Ado was recently asked in an interview how she takes care of her ligaments. She replied that she knew the techniques on how to do it. She has also been running regularly for many years to train her breathing.

@@Olkam-w5u But this is impossible to avoid damage, I think her live may be too long and should add more breaks. And, enjoy this young and crazy ado, her voice will have to leave us one day.
This is her on the stage, every single live performance Ado does is her on the stage. Wild how the people feeding you this info don't know this lol

For me, even though I'm at Ado concert, at beginning I feels like the one on stage are not her as well, so if the one on video haven't been to her concert (her concert sold out in sec man) this thinking is so normal. I sat at the back cz, well my age😂 I can't stand for 2 hours and dance like my 20' so yeah her silhouette seems unreal for me even though I saw it live.
It's really Ado on stage. Someone who went to her concert said that they were lucky to get seated in the front row and they said that her lung is so powerful that they can hear her singing not from the speaker.
I really love that fact that she has so much respect for her. I have seen some reaction videos where people are saying like “oh gosh, why he/she sings like that, that is not right…” and stuff like that when they haven even demonstrated their ability. I really love this video and people on it!

I just love how free and creative she is with her voice! And she loves to push to the point where she breaks but will carry on and lean into it! Sh is super fun to see live and I usually like to listen to her in the gym or just to be in a fun mood!
the vocal athlete is the best description! you absolutely right Ado is not background music but I can listen it while I walk or ride the bike or do some chores. something like this. She really grabs whole my attention most of the time) about back vocal it's pre recording and most of the cases it's her own voice) So All vocal parts is her)
the interesting thing about Ado is that she herself would not refer to herself as a vocalist or a singer first, but rather an utaite. An utaite is someone who does covers of vocaloid music. I think she feels very strongly about this because her origin into this industry started with her recording in her closet, which she soundproofed herself. She fell in love with the idea that she can be a faceless singer on the internet. When I saw her live in NYC on the 23rd, she seemed extremely thankful for the opportunity to do this as a career, and even spoke in English extensively about being an utaite and what it means. So even though one person might feel strongly one way or another, I think at the end of the day its awesome to be able to respect that even if we don't all agree with it.
@Olkam-w5u10 ай бұрын
Yes! Utaite, by the way, they do not forbid to perform openly, the leader utaite MafuMafu even performed at the stadium, there is a recording of the concert. But I don't mind her anonymity, it's even interesting, so let her decide what is more convenient for her. There are really many people who managed to defeat Vocaloid, and many of them are distinguished by amazing abilities and vocal acrobatics
@ANDOR-9 ай бұрын
To be completely correct, an utaite is an amateur singer that sings cover songs, so someone who doesn't make money off of singing them. Basically if you go to karaoke, you are an utaite. At least that's the origin of the word, but I don't know anything about the vocaloid scene so it's possible they made it their own aswell. I think Ado's pretty proud she has come this far so she still calls herself utaite.
@Olkam-w5u9 ай бұрын
@@ANDOR- As far as I've read, Utaite doesn't choose the songs for covers themselves, but they are ordered by their fans. Some of these covers are from anime and, accordingly, Vocaloid

So I visited 2 of her europe concerts first in Brussels and then in Düsseldorf. I was worried because it was her 4th show in 7 days and after being on the first and performing 21 songs with almost no break and hitting crazy notes and screams. For myself just singing along led to 3 days of recovering my throat. But holy was I wrong, the perfomance in Düsseldorf was even better and I don't know how that is human possible. If you haven't checked out her unravel live yet, u definetly should!
What I took away from this performance was that it was the encore piece after a >1hr long concert (chock full of athletic songs) and she's still pulling it off. Sounds rawer and less precise than her recordings but you know they're not hiding her behind processing.

11:48 I've seen some vocal coaches saying that there are healthy ways of doing it. But regardless, in Ado's case I'd say that what she did here is still well within her 'confort zone'. In the live version of Unravel she goes WAY HARDER than this. EDIT: I just remembered - In Chris Liepes's(vocal coach) analysis of Unravel he not only explains how one can do the type of growls and compressions Ado does, but he also exemplifies it with his own voice. So I'm inclined to believe that it is in fact possible to do even those "metal screams" that she does in a healthy way.

Most traditional vocal coaches have absolutely zero knowledge or training on harsh vocals of any sort. As a result, many simply have no idea that it is possible to safely perform those vocals. And even those who know that often have no idea how to do those vocals. Traditional vocal pedagogy simply never covers harsh vocals at all.

Without a doubt, it’s ADO on stage - Just saw her in Chicago, proof is during MC she’s interacting with crowd callouts 😂
When it comes to how Ado contributes in the writing process, it's been said that she hates hearing playbacks of her voice so much, she prefers just being given the instrumental track and lyrics so she can disappear into a studio alone for a while. Then she eventually comes back out and hands a full vocal track to the producer. We also know it's her dancing on stage because she screams in horror looking back at her own performances.

You should be aware that the music was arranged by two Vocaloid producers while the lyrics are by another. All three, Giga, Teddyloid, and DECO*27 are very well-known producers in the Vocaloid community. While I'm certain that her voice and stylization is hers, the rest is them. It's a mutual work, but you'll see that Giga and Teddyloid know how to bring out the best of a vocalist and showcase it perfectly. Watch Ado's Show, also produced by Giga and Teddyloid. You'll see that even with how the music is ever present and powerful, they're doing it all to push her to the front and support her. They're very unselfish artists, but they also put their signatures in the song at 2:33 of your video and about the :19 second mark of the studio recording. It's always a shame when these amazing artists don't get their due.
Should check out her song Backlight, its one of my favorites by her. Its so aggressive and beautiful but also very catchy.

1. Both songs, Odo and Show, are composed by two famous vocaloid composers who often work together, GigaP and TeddyLoid. GigaP is known for his techno and pops works while TeddyLoid for his electronic dance music. 2. All Ado's songs are collaborations with various producers hence the huge variety in music genre. While we are excited to see her own music, she only sings. 3. Vocaloid are basically music software, something like garageband with the option of "human voice" for creating melody, instead of the usual "guitar" or "piano". The earlier versions e.g. Miku, Kaito sounded robotic because they were produced in 2003. (First iPhone was announced in 2007) Each vocaloid has their own voice actress that provided for the sound bank. The newer versions got more natural. They have nothing to do with AI. Peoole mostly use it because 1. they are great producers but not so talented/confident singers 2. they tried to create music that's beyond common folks' ability Tons of brilliant music producers (especially in Japan) we see nowadays in mainstream JPOP music used to be vocaloid producers. (some youngsters thought vocaloids came from the music game Project Sekai but NO) I just found out about this channel, and I love the show, love Rozette's unbiased teachings and opinions but I really hope you guys can be more accurate when giving out the informations, and correct the inaccurate one.
Funny you say Ado is very theatrical in her performance. She draws inspiration from Japanese theater in fact, Kyōgen which is comic theater. In fact that is where she got her stage name Ado, which is a support role in Kyōgen from what I understand. Also, Ado does her performances on stage which Ado herself has confirmed having criticized her own performance afterward in a video review. You can watch it in English sub on KZbin.

She says she likes music that's easy to grasp for the listener (to simplify), but a lot of original Ado songs have moments where there's something I can grasp fairly easy. As she said, not that it's easy to sing or perform (I agree), but this is a difference in taste here. Several parts of this song in particular are very memorable, and easy to become an ear worm. Even after my first listening to it, parts of it stuck even when I wasn't paying full attention.

i honestly think this vocal coach is really something. As far as i know from a certain interview of Ado, she admitted that the Japanese singer Ringo Sheena( originally famous for her broadway singing) is her one of the biggest among models that she admires. She also admitted that this singer has a huge influence on her music, even the singing style. And such a tiny detail being heard from this live performance by this vocal coach. Impressive!
@shib52678 ай бұрын
12:00 The proof is in the singing. If distortion was always harmful, you simply wouldn't hear harsh vocalists in their 40s and 50s. And in this song, as a singer who doesn't know how to do distortion, try to do her screams closer to the end with the same tone and harshness, it'll be physically impossible to continue singing, due to the vocal chords being too sore, and even more so doing a whole set of 2 hours, almost every day for a whole tour. That show that she has built a technique, and you can actually hear it over time in her career. Her earlier singing had very little distortion and very few types, now you hear a constant use and a range of different techniques
