Depending under what medication he was, he is a professional and like any he wouldn't risk to damage his vocal folds or give a bad performance. Some people sings better being "sick", not because the sickness but because of the medication. I don't want to give specific names or get into details but the point is that a minor sickness can be treated enough so doesn't have any effect over such a high-end performance.

Rock and metal has some of the most amazing singers that just fly under the radar. Pop, R&B and soul singers get a lot of love but I personally feel most of them lack the emotional value that rock and metal singers convey. Not saying that they’re not talented, just don’t have the raw emotion that carries the song like rock and metal.

I have never clicked on a video so fast! Myles Kennedy is one of favorite singers. His voice is just incredible and got can feel the emotion he has, especially live. I've seen Alter Bridge 3 times and this song always makes me cry. Thank you so much for checking this song out, Beth!

This song hits me in the feels every time. His friend that he wrote the song for passed away from cancer. Right now I'm dealing with my mother who has terminal cancer herself and this song just hits me right in the gut. Myles is considered one of the best vocalist in the music business period.

ROB. In an interview with billboard also he stated that his long time friend and photographer passed away a couple months prior and his wife was watching them that night so it was very hard for him to keep his emotions in during the song.

One of my fav bands in the world, one of my fav songs as well. Alter Bridge is the most underrated band these days. I love Mark and Myles style of playing and singing. they are really awesome. Do a react to Mark Tremonti - Dust He is the lead guitar in Alter Bridge, but his solo project is really something.

Myles is awesome. He's so talented. The best part is he's so humble. One of the reasons he's a favorite of mine. Love Alter Bridge. I don't hear sickness in his voice like others have stated. I think he's just putting a certain feeling to the song he's very expressive. Good expressive playing by Mark.

Tommow Bruce‘s endurance in The Talisman is what is most breathtaking about this performance I think. He often sings notes that high, but in The Talisman almost the whole song is super high and energetic.

You like the guitar solo because it has the rhythm from the bridge leading into rhythm from the chorus for the second half of the solo so it builds in intensity and leads you back to the chorus. And they wrote the solo to sound like someone crying, where it starts with deep sobbing and builds back up into full out hysteria before recollecting the emotions into a positive outlook on loss. The solo is like stages of grieving and is was written so you can sing the solo.

I've really come to enjoy watching your videos! Your reaction to the guitar solo reinforces what I tell people all the time. I think that if you love music, then you can recognize greatness in any genre. I'm a rock music guy, but I also love classical music and have started listening to jazz standards as well. I always feel like I'm mostly focusing on instruments, but watching your videos has made me realize how many choices a great vocalist makes in making a performance personal and emotional. I find your analysis very interesting. For instance, I've never thought of how different the same note can sound depending on where the vocalist places it, head or chest. Listening to you talk about scoops and riffs and how certain singers end their vowel sounds...it's all very interesting. This is the part where I hit the subscribe button. Cheers!

I can perfectly understand why you get goosebumps from the guitar solo. It's not so much about just shredding all the time, this is a great example of how a solo can mirror the emotion of a song. It sounds almost like the guitar is crying. I don't listen to Alter Bridge a lot, but this one's a good one.

I love alter bridge and i feel exactly the same sensation when i hear the guitar solo... ok maybe because i m a huge fan of mark tremonti (best guitarist player for me). Has always i really love how you speak about the song and the technical of the singer... you should try a song from silverchair like "greatest view", i think you should appreciate it... or a song from selah sue, she have a spécial voice! You like the guitar solo so much because it's the most emotionally expressive part of the song. Miles' part is sorrowful, expressing the hopless sadness of the situation. For all intents and purposes, they could have ended it there and gone back into the chorus. The second part is almost unexpected, full of chaotic rage at the situation. Kicks in like a "NO, FUCK THIS! RAAAAGHHH." Sends shivers down my spine every time.
