So true! So many “voice analyses” on KZbin are just women bouncing up and down excitedly apparently loving your favourite band: it’s just a nerd’s wet dream, it’s not about music, at all.

I think the best thing is in almost all of his early stuff he is drunk off his ass or at least somewhat drunk XD he admitted to it a few years ago he was an alcoholic back then but he is better now. Also listen to his top vocals compilation just for fun

actually the part where you said he was off-pitch on his “and” is how it is in the original studio recording of the song, it’s different from other chorus, which you can hear in the rest of that bridge part. also the album this song is from is their 2005 alternative rock/emo album, his vocals only began to fade into different styled stuff after the band split, he went more mainstream pop.
@ZachAnsley
@ZachAnsley 2 жыл бұрын
If this is true, and that 'and' is deliberate, then he chose a wrong note for that harmonic context.

Baritenor isn't a real 'fach'. It's a made up term that's basically just a form of low-key bragging about range. Look up the term 'fach' and you will see that baritenor isn't there.

yeah but everyone would sound the same if artists followed what a personal teacher teaches. i know that's probably hard to hear if you're super into the theory of proper vocal technique. most vocalists who sing by the book abandon style which is great if you're like, covering a song, but it just isn't great music to actually listen to. i like brendon for his theatrical style. i've been following him for years and IMO his voice will remain healthy for many years to come. it just sounds good and wouldn't sound the same if he didn't abuse it with aggression and passion
@ZachAnsley

This isn't true. Ask all 1000 or so people who I have personally taught. None of them sound the same.
@kellustzall3057

LOL it doesn't work that way. This is what people tend to response when someone comes after them "IT'S JUST STYLE". No that's not style, that's inefficient wankery.

I'm no expert but the tension could be due to the fact that he has no ear-piece in an acoustic version and he's using more effort to try and hear himself better. Interesting video I like you speak what you actually think instead of just saying "wow he's good" and moving on basically.

Bro, wtf? Lol. Most everything you critiqued is nothing but style. It's not objectively bad, it's subjective.. don't trash subjective "techniques" as you call them... I'm not even a fan of Paris at the disco , but c'mon lol.

@@ZachAnsley saying thing like his forehead is too strained & that is unnecessary, is a subjective opinion. Does it help him sing? Maybe no. Does it hurt his singing? Maybe no... every singer has different expressions & often things that you seem to criticize are the reasons the artists sound they way they do. In your gay lil utopia where everyone sings the same using specific techniques, well that's not a world I want to live in. You're a clown imo. Learn to point out actual flaws & not critique the nonsense subjective BS you THINK you see/hear!.

@@ChrisTopher-ek6rr Right, seven years of college focusing on vocal pedagogy and vocal physiology, doing workshops with metropolitan opera singers, and working with nearly 1000 people over the course of my career makes me a clown. I'm not going to bother arguing with you because even when I put absolute proof in your face you would deny and argue it.

90% of 'vocal coaches' on this platform aren't actual voice teachers, and use the platform to pander to fans in order to get clout for themselves. I'm an actual professional voice teacher who has 7 years of college, worked at multiple schools, and teaches for a living. That's why I don't hold back my commentary.

This was probably the worst reaction video to any singer. Its pretty evident that you have a lot of knowledge about vocals but you need to let the song play for some time atleast about 30 seconds and then react and point out things. You are just pausing it literally in every 2 seconds which is so irritating and kinda pictures you as a know-it-all which is so annoying even though you might not be intending to do so. Hope you take this as constructive criticism and react better in future videos
