Just to give you some information the backing track is not the original Queen backing track it is a backing track sung and recorded by Brendon and Jake Sinclair and Suzy Shinn (Kenny maybe too). Then Kenny on guitar, Dan on Drums and Dallon on bass (now Nicole the new bass player) harmonize along live. Brendon was given the original Queen stems and he spent a month or more re-recording them with Jake and Suzy.

It is not entirely "live" the music singing by Urie. Notice the background recording. Urie and the other band members just overlap their voices over the background music. Only a few phrases like "Galileo" are live, but the base is not. QAL could do that too, just sing about the recording, but they chose to keep the original music at the shows as a way to honor Freddie and John Deacon. After all, this part of the song is iconic.

Adam Lambert is a better Singer than Urie. Adam uses more full and mixed voice and Urie uses more falsetto in the high notes. Adam has a more consistent voice, greater skill and better vocal technique. Adam's voice is more uniform and balanced and he can do "Riffs" and "Overdrive"... In addition, he is an extraordinary performer.

@adammishan6 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I didn't notice it which means it was done tastefully. I agree it sounds quite polished
@AlexStanilla6 жыл бұрын
Cool! Yeah, it's not too heavy. I first started noticing it around 2012 when a lot of festivals and live events started using pitch correction and now I can't UNHEAR it haha. Does make you have a great deal of respect though for bands like Queen who only had on stage monitors back in the day and not in ear monitors and all the numerous live enhancements available today!
@jeremywaygay6 жыл бұрын
wait im sorry but when the fuck does Brendon use pitch correction in his own shows I'm pretty sure this is all him fam, I've heard his voice with pitch correctors before, this ain't it
@AlexStanilla6 жыл бұрын
MarsTM like any effect there’s varying degrees. You can turn distortion wayyy up on a guitar amp or you can keep it pretty light. If you really listen, especially with headphones you can hear a tiny bit of melodyne. It might even be built into the sound system of the place he was playing at but it’s there. It doesn’t lessen his performance but it’s used pretty often in live serttings(you can buy a pedal at guitar center for 150 bucks)
@AlexStanilla6 жыл бұрын
MarsTM check out the Boss VE20, Roland VT3 and melodyne. All cheap vocal pedals/plug-ins that allow pitch correction. A lot of people use them and once you hear it you can’t unhear it. The amount of gear and production that went into this production could buy a decent car. I was hoping to have an artistic discussion about the use of modern musical equipment to recreate retro performances. NOT TRYING TO CALL OUT HIS VOCAL PERFORMANCE IN ANY WAY, he’s a great singer and absolutely slayed here but I’m a gear nerd am curious what a vocal coach thinks of modern vocal gear.

These kind of videos of vocal coaches reacting to *proffesional* singers, as the name is pretty self explanatory they’re *professionals* meaning that they’ve being trained by vocal coaches already so idk why people are so surprised 🤦🏻♀️
