That’s RM singing in the music video and they gave his part to J-hope in lives. Maybe becuz J-hope didn’t have any personal part in the whole song. He did many of the background vocals in this song.

They never lipsync it just depends on how much backing track they use. They usually use a louder one for music shows like these especially the ones from MCountdown. Also these shows are usually pre-recorded bc they take several takes but they still sing live. But their concerts always go from low to no backing track. (U definitely need to watch some on your own time!)

they do lipsync sometimes, of course it's very rare but I've seen multiple performances of them lipsyncing in the past, and tbh that's how I discovered they were really terrible at lipsyncing because I couldn't watch the entire performance. I remember only 2 performances when they were truly lipsyncing though

They do lipsyncing. Even the best vocal group are lipsyncing sometimes. Shinee, super junior,exo.

@@sirdromos2769 Its not lip syncing if you let the back track play without moving your mouth, which is what they usually do if they have to take a vocal rest or dance, they let the track play (Ie Jimin in Serendipity or Lie when he dances a difficult part) but they don't usually move their lips to match. (even in MVs they are terrible at lip sync)

This is actually pre-recorded on music show just to show the fans their choreography right after the album released....they shooting that for a few hours.....just to make sure that the choreography is perfect... So basically you can check their live singing in the the end year show like MAMA, MMA or GDC P/s my English is bad 💜

Morph Kogan hobi doesn’t have any lines in the song, if he sings in the recorded track it’s as backing vocals but he doesn’t have his own part, some people have said it’s to represent the person/people missing who are left "voiceless" however I don’t believe bts themselves have acknowledged it or given an answer? If they have then i can’t recall it, but yeah the reason hobi sings in place of joon in the live is due to him not getting any lines/parts in the original version! 🥰 I’m sure there was an intentional reason for it and that hobi agreed upon it because they’ve never completely left out a member in a title song before so don’t worry, if hobi or anyone wasn’t happy with the distribution then I’m certain he would have his own verse/ at least split a verse with joon or yoongi!

Spring Day is about missing loved ones who have passed away; “Past the end of this cold winter Until the spring comes again Until the flowers bloom again Stay there a little longer Stay there”. It’s my favorite BTS song, and the one I relate to the most.

spring day has a very emotional and deep meaning to korea which is why it hasn’t left the charts since it’s release in 2016. it’s a tribute to the 300+ students that lost their lives in a ferry accident. the tragedy itself redefined korea as a country and brought a lot of people together. i do recommend watching spring day explained as the lyrics, cinematography and choreography is all explained to you.

The song refers to the accident with the Sewol ferry in Korea, where many drowned high school students died because they were not rescued correctly and only 5 of them survived.

Adam, Spring Day I’ve heard is about grieving of the Sewol ferry sinking in Korea when all the high school kids drowned with the ship - spring April 16, 2014. The clothes piles represents the clothes of the kids who lost their lives. And BTS sing “(pokoshpta = I miss you, you’re my best friend”. There is a synopsis video on KZbin explaining more of the meaning in this video. I think it was their social statement after the event. The captain told the kids to stay in their rooms instead of having them abandon ship.

I don't know if anyone has said this already but it seems like in the past on shows like this one they had a more heavy backing vocal because they splice up the scenes to get the best parts of the performance. Like they perform about 7 times then those performances get cut up to make the perfomance we watch.

The song is EXTREMELY popular amongst Koreans because it was of a tragic accident I think it was Called Sewon Ferry tragedy it was a national crisis and it represents the many deaths, also it represents the movie Snowpiercer

You are right. Not only BTS but also other Korean singers sometimes show 'lip-unmatched live' even if they don't look doing lipsynk. It's because of the Korean production system. Usually in Korean music show, singers are required to do performances several times to make 'sauces'. After shooting many times, producers find the best version of audio and video. They put the best audio to best video and it goes on air. It depends on producers' judgment. If the best sound and picture are in the same shot, it will look more naturally and nobody would doubt about their live. But if they are not, they come from separately (eg. On air = audio in 2nd shot + video in 1st shot). So in that case, they could look lipsynk along with live sound. Korean listeners are very highly demanding for singing live. If someone does lipsynk, he or she is considered that he or she doesn't do his/her job. Trust me, they all sing live. Of course, even if they do live, there are differences how much they use backing vocals. But BTS are known for singing every 'their' song along with 'live MR', which has the least backing vocals since their debut(except for special performance such as homage). It's like their basic principle to live as singers.

the first part you were right bcs in digital version there's no jhope's part but in live version its different. and this comeback show is prerecorded so there were a lot of backup music. if you want full live band version try check out gayo daechukjae 2017 (kbs song festival) they definitely going ALL LIVE with band so you can judge them cz this one somehow not that into full live version.

It is not backing track, it is their own voice, just pre recorded a few hours before the live show while they were dancing and performing the exact same way.. thats why it sounds like it is live but also not.. It is not actually supposed to be a noticable difference but some people are not good at lip syncing so..🤣

From what I've seen before there are some performances that they don't fully sing the whole song. There are some parts of the song where you can clearly hear their live vocals and some parts where they rely more on the backing track to compensate a bit for the intensity of the choreography so I think this is one of those performances where they are doing a mix of live singing and being supported by the backing track

Adam you should check their concert or awards show performances for such reactions instead of these music shows, cz these korean music shows are promotion platforms for artists when they release a song/album, they pre-record it multiple times to make it 'flawless' then air it on tv, and backing track is also high in such performances. So there is no good for you to react to these as a vocal coach. Look for concert fancams(with most views/good sound quality) or award show performances.

Spring day is about the sewol-ho tragedy. RM once said in an interwie that people should still interpret the Song in their own way. The Moment at 2:17 is resembling a porthole of a ship and a Person inside is looking at Jin on the outside. Also the clothes at 2:33 is a symbol for the children who died on that ship because they had a classtrip on it. I just wanted to say this.

If you are looking for a more raw version of any of their songs, watch concert videos instead of music show performances. On music shows the performances are pre-recorded, so they redo the song multiple times until they get the “perfect” take. Specifically spring day the backing track is rlly loud though. I recommend you looking at concert versions of their performances! Please react to Just One Day and Coffee, both are older songs. Love the vids!

If you want to hear clear vocals I suggest you react to their concert performances instead of the music shows! Music shows are known for burying the vocals in the backing track most of the times, they are heavilly edited since it's recorded several times, also they take place during promotional periods during which the singers' voices may not be at their best. BTS' concert lives really do them justice and they go all out, no lip-syncing at all.

4:44 You are right actually, they change the line on stage, it happens sometime, like RUN, there are two B parts, it is V at first time then Jin's turn at next time in audio ver. but they switched their part in live ver. 5:23 However the sound you heard should be backing vocal of Jin's voice, Jhope's voice is either too deep that we can barely hear that or not recorded in at all. I don't like the way they deal this part on stage, it always makes me awkward, like here kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZrKXolpnZ55g9E you can clearly hear Jhope sings but also Jin's backing vocal become stronger and stronger. 5:40 Usually they still sing along with weaker voice, but when it comes to Mnet's comeback stage it would be different. I heard that Mnet has a rule to avoid any accident during artists' comeback events at the first week. All the so call live stages are pre-recording, but I'm not sure how do they deal with the vocal part. Bc even you do the pre-recording stage you still can sing live, however it seems either they have to use louder backing vocal or unable to use live vocal record at all. I checked the previous comeback stages, such as Blood Sweat & Tears and Fake Love, sometimes I can hear double sound sources but sometimes I can't, I think it is decided by the PD in TV shows. It happened many times during open concerts, there are many private fancam will film in the open concerts as well, so I found that sometimes artist sounds like audio ver. in official video but actually sing in the fancams. That means even there are double sound sources in live, they only record the audio ver. they even remove audiences' voice. For me, focusing on JK's voice would be the most stable feature, JK will try his best to make you hear he sings live no matter what. So if I can't hear the double sources from JK's voice I would tend to believe the record doesn't include the live vocal. The rap lines as well, rap line always rap loud in live especially when the mic is broken or poor connection, you will hear they rap. If you have time you can check Fake Love stage in MAMA 2019 in Japan. JK's mic receiver lost connection during performance, he fixed it while dancing and you can only hear backing vocal during "just for you/who are you kzbin.info/www/bejne/moaWq4SEmbCjbpI " and back to normal once at 2:09 then start to choppy 2:22(I guess it is bc the sudden down choreo) then the connection is dead. After the dancing break he finally got it fixed and his voice become clear again at 4:43. From that time, I use him as a stander. And fun fact, after that Fake Love stage, he turned to use his hand mic instead.

There is this a couple of songs that are almost never requested though I believe they show amazing vocal ability and technique from Jin called "Mom" and the other is called "I Love You" Both are covers he made a few years back and specifically the one called "I Love You" which is around a couple of lines repeated over and over again but each time with a different vocal approach. the shows are prerecorded and they have shown the behind the scenes so they have to do it again and again util they get it perfect. They don't lip sync but they do use backing tracks to make it easier when they dance. And lots of that spring day performance had backing tracks, the reason why i saw they don't lip sync bc there are parts where i do think they sang live. And i think the backing tracks were more noticable bc they didn't do as much as intense dancing.I dont recommend watching those live music shows bc its hard to listen to there vocals. But either way great reaction and i love watching your thoughts on there songs and lives
