It's like you've said, her grown is done in such a way that is safe and healthy for her own anatomy. Also, her performance of "I Have Nothing" is worth a watch. No 12 year old should sound that good.

Did anyone else notice how Britney Spears was the sharpest/cleanest/best of the backup dancers? I think the outfits came from an innocent mindset. They were very modest/conservative. It wasn't sensual at all. The school girl look was a thing in the mid '90's (at least in America - see the film "Clueless" for reference).

This was great, and I'm not in the least bit surprised that Christina sounded like this so young. Clearly she was already at the top of her game and outshining many accomplished adults that were already bringing in the dough through their record sales. All the arguments about who is 'better' are baffling to me when you are talking of vocalists of this calibre. It's about preference. I love many of the 'best' and equally some of the not so 'bests', but Christina is my personal favourite of the women because I love HER sound more than others. Just because we prefer one does not mean that the others are not equally awesome, they are just different and sometimes not to our individual tastes. Also, I have to say that there is absolutely nothing wrong with schoolgirls wearing very realistic looking school uniforms. They were not in the least bit sexualised, unlike a lot of schoolgirl 'costumes' seen in other vids by older teenagers and adult women which very much are. These just make me think these girls rushed over to the studio after school was out and didn't bother to change. People need to stop sexualising normal things that young girls wear in perfectly innocent ways.

Georgina has consistently said that she has always liked Christina (and still does). Just because she (justifiably) points out some of Christina's bad habits doesn't change that. She has also noted (on multiple occasions) that Christina's technique seems to be working for her...it's just not something she'd recommend other singers emulate

The crazy thing is her snd Britney were neck in neck vocally during the mickey mouse club. Britney singing "i feel for you" on the mickey mouse club surprised me how powerful her voice was and how at 11 years old she could sustain a E5 the way she did. That being said Mickey mouse club def discovered some powerful houses especially christina.

That's not true at all. Christina was always known and celebrated to be the best child singer from and on the mickey mouse club. Britney used to be a good belter on star search but on MMC she had deteriorated significantly. Although she still had some solid moments there she never had the agility nor the live range and control that Christina possessed at the same young age which is why Christina got all the big solo's and praises and MMC had everyone else operate as Christina's background singers/dancers.
