His ability comes from genetic luck of the draw and years of training and dedicated hard work. Just because he chose to sing gospel doesn’t mean his voice comes from imaginary divine intervention
@sebastienj.c.2183 жыл бұрын
@@fezzik7619 He has a God given voice, whether you acknowledge it or not. If you don't want to acknowledge your Creator, you will have to one day or another in one way or another and for some people it takes death to reach that point (sadly). And what's also sad is to see people who don't know about their Creator but also insist on telling those who know Him that he's not real. I'm glad I found Him. I used to be an atheist too.
@fezzik76193 жыл бұрын
@@sebastienj.c.218 I know what people think god is and how they believe he created humanity, but the reverse is true. Man created god. He’s done it over and over again throughout history. Which god do you believe in by the way? There are thousands worshipped on this planet. You dead certain you’ve got the right one? Forsaking all others? I’m not threatened by finding out too late after death. That’s all made up as well. We have a short biological life. Wasting our time worrying about the judgement of a mythological entity is the essence of the master and slave relationship and a colossal waste of life. As is prayer and worrying about non-believers.
@MultiKamil973 жыл бұрын
@@sebastienj.c.218 Well, if you were atheist you should know, that as you have the right to believe in God, others have the right to not believe in Him. I am agnostic and I think that we can't know whether God is real or not. We can't take it for granted, because some people may be right if he doesn't exist and others also may be right that he does exist. We can't know for sure.
@sebastienj.c.2183 жыл бұрын
@@fezzik7619 Man created god. That statement is both right and wrong. God created man in His own image. God the Almighty who is Eternal. That one God is the only true God. After multiplying on the Earth, after the fall of Adam and Eve, the children of men as told in the Bible and Apocryphal ancient texts, forgot the existence of God. Generation after generation, it just seemed to them as if God didn't exist, yet they could see some powerful things were going on, but they made statues of metal or stone or wood in order to worship the gods they had created for themselves. So in that way, Men did create gods, and God did create Man. And the God of the Bible, the Eternal One does warn us that worshipiing - FALSE - gods is displeasing to His eyes. I do not hear of so many religions in which their god is warning his people to not worship other gods. The God of the Bible demonstrated his almighty power over the gods of Egypt which at the time were in the eyes of the entire world the most powerful gods and Pharaon had the most powerful mages in his land of all lands. That's why God Almighty humiliated them of all nations, to show his Supreme Power and Glory. Regarding life after death, I encourage you to read a scientific book called Life after Life written by Dr Raymond Moody. It tells what happened to a great variety of people from all backgrounds using a scientific understanding of the events. I gave it to people who were skeptic, and they all thanked me for giving them that book as it gave them new keys of understanding. If nothing happens after we die, then life is absolutely pointless and there would be no reason for life to even exist. You talk about wasting our life worrying about the judgement, but what would there be to be wasted about your life if you have a short biological life that ends into an eternal chaos ? You enjoy it as it happens, and then you're gone with no memory of what you've done and the memory of you fades away as generations pass if anyone even remembers you. That's the saddest thing one could ever convince themselves of. Of all the possibilities for the reason of life existing, how could you pick the saddest one ? Because you never listened to people around you who do know God for reasons that you probably love to reject because they do not fit with the criterias you consider to be reliable in order to believe, right ? Now believers worry about non-believers because if God does exist, just imagine for a second or two ! And he wants you to love Him as He loves you, but instead he watches you turning your back like an angry kid, saying : "Nope, God does not exist". What do you think his reaction will be ? I'm sure you understand. God blesss you brother, I hope you find your way home someday, like I did :)

@@natemup I know literally all of his tracks and his opera songs aswell (o Mio babbino caro, nessun dorma, etc.). The only thing that is related to opera is his phrasing (sometimes) and his top notes in mixed voice such as the B4 in nessun dorma. But there is more to opera than flat out belting high notes with an operatic tone. (His vowels, his vibrato, his projection and actually the register are very different). Very much enjoyed your analysis. For me, when David sang with the Gaithers, he was the greatest tenor on the planet. He is soulful and very powerful with his voice. You captured his essence extremely well.

Tara, this was my first time watching you and I really enjoyed it. You clearly speak from tremendous knowledge and it’s a great learning platform for those of us who are fans of serious singing. I sang in a choir through high school and can still hear our director’s words in so many of yours. I’m almost 63 now and the bit of voice I had is long gone, but I’m a new subscriber and look forward to watching many more of your videos.

One of the finest vocalists of my generation. This was an educational treat, and thanks for your input I didn’t know notes he was hitting as I’m not trained. You said he sounded classically trained- when Bill Gaither interviewed him once Bill said he was classically trained so you’re good! 1:52 In case you don’t know, the woman to his left was his sister who was dying of breast cancer. She backed him for years, and that night was their last performance together “I’m Going Home.” Heartbreakingly beautiful. They both gave it all they had except for God’s Grace I don’t see how they got through it. Amazing gift he has, love his voice. My favorite was the one you played at Carnegie Hall after 9/11. When he hit the high note (“He arose!!”) people stood to their feet! Awesome to watch. Thank you, you’re beautiful! 🌹

David is trained. I know he went to the school of music at Baylor University and received his degree in music and vocal performance. I've been able to see him twice live so far and he is just as powerful in person. His Christmas tour is nearby in December so I'll make the trek to see him again. His latest CD does seem to be in his lower register but still so clear and beautiful.
