Before his solo career Demis was part of an incredible band from Greece named Aphrodites child,1960-1970.Demis was singer and bass player,Loukas sideras drummer,Argyris koulouris lead guitar and Vangelis papathanasiou keyboards later known as VANGELIS famous for music for films like BLADE RUNNER,CHARIOTS OF FIRE(oscar winning).Check out their hits from that time like RAIN AND TEARS,ITS FIVE OCLOCK ETC.And of course their masterpiece called 666 based on the Apocalypse of John.Listen to all of it and especially BREAK and AEGEAN SEA.kisses from gteece.

Please Baby...respect him because all the europeas ( russians, italianos, etc)..and latín people cry when heard voice of Demis Rousso and all those mediterránean beautifull songs of love (when love was puré and inocent) and better times. Forget about bloody móvies Tarantino.. (also anglosaxon violence staff)...and try to find an auténtic romance or someone to love and after that... you can understand this feeling and auténtic art of Demis. Demis Roussos ( Ríp)... was an internacional legend, he talked and sang in five diferentes lenguages. Dont existe artist like him anymore, except in Opera music.

Demis Roussos' work with Progressive Rock band, Aphrodite's Child, will show you his harder edge. Most of their songs were written by their keyboardist, Vangelis, famous now for his movie themes, such as for "Chariots of Fire" and "Blade Runner". I would recommend their "Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and the dramatuc "I Want to Live".

That was in Poland in my country. Interwizja - our equivalent to Eurovision song contest. During comunist era that was one of our best festivals...if I am correct that was 1976.
