This is one camera view with this happening. He is at the European Olimpics. The stadium holds at least 100,000 people. He is up. His choir is below rotating around him on a revolving stage. There is a light show rave going on all over the stadium. At one point balls of light start at his feet and circle up individually to make an oval shape from head to toe while his arms are stretched out inside as he sings. Then they come down to his feet and trail behind him into the back and fade all while he was singing and the light show is still going on. There is an orchestra pit in front of him. It looks like they’re in the floor. I think he’s 24 years old here. It seems to me the Olimpics Committee put a lot of pressure on a man this young. He does have 22 years of professional training up to this point. He is still studying. His university put him in an internship some where in LA. I’ve heard other vocal coaches say he left opera behind. A person with his octave range can do anything he wants to. I listened to everything you’ve said on this video. I never once saw nerves. He just exudes confidence. He was on stage at two and both parents are opera singers. At five I saw him play the piano for a group of dignitaries. With his education and his experience talent as singer and composer he has some control of what he sings and instrumentation.

Bill Godwin-Austen you should react to Floor Jansen on the show called Beste Zangers it's a Dutch show. If you watch the whole episode made by Denise you can see the words they're talking when talking in Dutch. But you can listen to individual performances. She sings in 4 different languages.

I too caught the in-ears touch and the mic adjust, and only noticed because I have been backstage and at sound boards many times for other performers. If you watch the video from the concert, not the fan cam, you can actually hear the "change" when he adjusts the mic. It is subtle, but it's there. My guess he was using a type of cardioid mic and wasn't hearing the sound he wanted and/or expected to hear. You are correct, and can actually watch him "test" the position of the mic almost from the beginning of the song. He checks his in-ears, listens, and adjusts the microphone. The mic adjustment placed his voice in the right "path" for the mic. He makes it totally a part of the song and it looks like nothing is happening. It always amazes me how "in" the song he can be, but still be totally aware of what is going on technically. He is a wonder to watch, from the basics of singing to the highest levels of singing, and performing. He absolutely is the best.

You are so extraordinary. Beauty + intelligence + talent, all this is visible and it causes respect and admiration. Дорогая Тара! Помимо того, что я с удовольствием слушаю ваши комментарии (вернее, читаю автоперевод) на выступления Димаша, которым я восхищаюсь... я еще и любуюсь Вами! Вы такая необыкновенная. Absolute classical training master class -- the first time I ever heard him sing this, it was like five minute constant chill bump -- and all the movements he does (whether related to mic/inner ear issues or not) just become an added piece of character to the mood his voice sets -- and no matter what is going on around him with cameras or anything else, he just stays so centered and focused on delivering the emotion/meaning first and foremost -- EVERY time he does those seemingly never-ending climbs it's just SO otherworldly, its like you don't even know if his voice even HAS a limit (because I've certainly never heard it yet!) -- He's just in a class all his own!

Russian composer, Igor Krutoy, has been working on & composing material (like Ogni Pietra) for Dimash and frankly stretching Dimash to a whole new place! It is amazing to watch! So as others have requested- I really do think your students would love to study this song too- "Passione" (both songs are in Italian- so I take it Dimash enjoys singing in that language) The link is here: "Passione" kzbin.info/www/bejne/boLXepKcpbl8rsU Background scenery in live performance is of "Dante's Inferno" and is a song about the struggle of good and evil. Dimash definitely has a God-given gift, but he worked so incredibly hard to be where he is at today. I mean he has been classically trained since he was five years old, yes he already had talent but what we see from him today is far more than just a gift. What we see are 1,000s and 1,000s of hours of practice, critique, and dedication. He took his gift and made something out of it. He is beyond incredible.

Tara is certainly up there with the best(at least that I've seen), but there are other very good ones as well, Sam Johnson being one and Linor Oren being another. I thoroughly enjoy hearing(and learning from) their critiques and commentary from their unique perspectives..

Good God Almighty, Dimash has an absolutely incredible voice! RVA describes it the best: “His diaphragm is made of gold, his larynx is made of diamonds, and everything else is just pearls”. I hope he’s taking excellent care of his MAGNIFICENT voice.
