Great reaction. Dimash stayed in his lower range for this performance, but you know he has the vocals to sing either of Aida's or Lara's parts. Interesting to note: Andrea Bocelli also participated in this 65th Birthday concert for Igor Krutoy. There is a "family" video of Bocellli inviting Dimash into his dressing room because he wants to hear Dimash sing. Bocelli plays the piano and Dimash sings, and - of course - they end up singing togther. It's a fun thing to watch, eve if you don't react to it.

I just saw the comment down lower--the piece I was trying to remember. It features Dimash and Sundet Baigojin (operatic baritone, also from Kazakhstan) singing a piece from the Hunchback of Notre Dame--"Tu Vas Me Detruire". The original, I gather, was a solo, but they sing it as a duet (required for a competition Sundet was performing in; he asked for Dimash to be his partner) each basically showing different sides in the argument Archdeacon Frollo was having with himself over his lust for Esmerelda. Sundet has a lovely baritone voice; Dimash takes a lighter tone (in part to suit the side of the character they are playing) on into his high and belty side as the piece progresses--their voices play off each other well.

Magnificent. Each one of them are sensational. Andreas, I’ve just come across your Chanel, & I’m impressed with your style &;general music knowledge & as such, I have subscribed. I’m very choosy to whom I subscribe, as I want an honest opinion when reacting to any artist. Too many reactors have little or no knowledge & simply pander to us, the viewers. This is a long post, so please humour me. There is a phenomenal young Soprano by the name of Amira Willighagen who won Holland’s Got Talent at the age of nine, without a single singing lesson. Shortly after this, she engaged a vocal coach & has since performed in some 20: countries and sung in at least 5 languages . Her voice is so clear/clean, even in her top register & unlike some wannabe opera singers, her top register is sung without strain,& she does so effortlessly. I have listed below three of Amira’s performances for your reaction consideration . ... O Mio Babbino Caro with Andre Rieu. ( age 10 )She was invited by Andreas Rieu to perform at Maastricht with an audience of 15,000 , who rose as one to give her a standing ovation. ... Nella Fantasia ( age 12 ). I recommend the concert performance. ... Gabriella’s Song ( age 14 ) again the concert performance. Please give your consideration to this young Soprano singer who really has the voice of an angel. I feel the best performance for you to begin with would be the following. Ave Maria by Gomez at the Canisius Church. Amira was just 11 years old. Note the powerful but Angelic voice with a beautiful vibrato & even in her upper register, she does so effortlessly and without straining. The song is written for baritone/basso, operatic soprano and pop female vocalist. It is an old piece, written by Igor many years ago, probably to feature Lara Fabian. Dimash didn’t CHOOSE his range for this - it’s in the music. Watch the late, great, Dmitri Hvoritovsky sing this with various sopranos and Lara. Every bit as good as this - and a pure basso-baritone of the best order at that . It’s not that difficult to blend the voices because it’s written in the music and the composer is there to direct the singers as to what he wants if they do happen to go astray. All three singers have to modulate and they all do it well. Josh Groban is not in Dimash’s league. At all. His songs are watery and bland at best. He simply boring. Dimash singing opera? 100%. Extreme pop does nothing much for his tremendous talent at this time of his life and career. He should develop more operatic pieces other than Olimpico which was written by Igor especially for him. Yes indeed, Dimash would sound great in Nessun Dorma and a hundred other arias! But he appears stubborn and goes for pop and rock, which make him sound like any other singer, and there is only so much he can continue to do to change them. So in that, it eventually sounds predictable. He’s wasting his voice and has been doing so for the past year with his choice of music. He shouldn’t aspire to be Michael Jackson - he’s way beyond that in every way. Khazak songs, lyrical melodies like those of Igor Krutoy (and there are thousands to choose from), opera and special compositions. Those are for him. He would shine even brighter!

Amazing singer and artist! You are correct about Josh Groban. I was initially a purist when it came to Dimash’s voice until I heard him with another singer for the first time. Dimash has an incredible skill vocally as both a solo artist and he is able to accompany without overshadowing or overpowering his partners. Dimash’s performance of Ogni Pietro by Igor Krutoy is phenomenal.

@@andreasgrussl I've spent the last two years since discovering her through her stunning live performance of Je Suis Malade in the concert From Lara With Love trying to figure out why her voice hits my aural net like no other soprano ever has. It's a mystery like an itch I can't scratch! I just know as a contralto and daughter of a trained contralto basso that sopranos have always hit me somewhere on the spectrum from "Horrifying Pain" to "please change the record." Until Fabian. It's very odd. 🤣 I'd love to hear your analysis of some of her work. The aforementioned Je Suis Malade or Caruso or her original Broken Vow all from the same concert. Her live performances are something to behold. 🖖🏽

How about Dimash singing Passione? It has some operatic qualities, both in Dimash's voice (though he doesn't stay there the whole time) and in the staging, which is very dramatic (in particular the version with the red medieval-looking backdrop.) Another thing you might like listening to are some of his ethnic pieces--he shines there because of his feelings for his country/culture and because he is singing in his own language. He stays in the lower register in most of them--but he doesn't need the highs, his low voice is so rich and warm. Samaltau would be a good choice. Some others he sings in Kazakh are Qairan Elim, Qaragym ai, Daididau.... He is wonderful in duets--very careful to make sure he's not drowning out the other singers/musicians. I always say he sings for the music, not for himself. If the music requires another singer to shine in a part, Dimash has no trouble standing back and letting them take the honors. Swan Goose with Tengri is a duet I particularly enjoy just for its light and playful mood. Dimash (western style singing), Tengri with an eastern style (mongolian/chinese)......and throat singing. All in one performance.
