He is a rocksinger, for sure. He started his KZbin channel, when he got leukemia 2021. Before that he was singer in the swedish rockband H.E.A.T for ten years. He had a bone marrow transplant in August 2021 and six months later he became lead singer for Skid Row. He left the band last spring, because his new immune system could not handle the heavy touring. It needed more time to recover.

He say that he was a singer as a compliment for being able to sing more than just rock so I think it should be seen as a compliment and that is all he meant by saying it.

Im old. When he went through swedish idol, as a metal head I felt so redeemed. Yes, we can sing too, and we do it well. I dont particularly like heat or skid row but Erik will always have a place in my heart.

Proud Swede here - I LOVE his cover of Mariah Carry "Without you"....!! But he does some of the MOST ikonic rocksongs. He has a lot of AWESOME content on YT. Peace and Love from Sweden!

The keyboard player is Jona T, Erik's good friend and former H.E.A.T bandmate. Erik and Jona work closely together on most of Erik's music; they also write music together.

You should listen to Erik Grönwall sing (Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You, it's the best cover I heard since Whitney Huston did her cover in the movie Bodyguard). You should even look/listen to him sing Mariah Carey's Without You, John Farnham's You're the voice, Eric Carmen's (Celine Dion) All by myself, Oh Holy Night and The Animals House of the rising sun, they are also truly amazing! In 2009, Erik won Swedish Idol and performed the specially written song Higher in the final. On March 23, 2022, it was announced by Eddie Trunk that Grönwall is replacing ZP Theart as the lead singer of Skid Row. In March 2024, Erik announced that he was leaving Skid Row for health reasons after being diagnosed with leukemia. His first single, "Higher", reached gold on digital downloads after only three days. His debut album, self-titled Erik Grönwall, was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Both as a solo artist and band member, Grönwall has numerous top 40 hits. 0:23

Yes this cover is awesome but i recommend you to listen to Eriks first cover on the Chanel, the cover of Black Sabbaths Headless cross he was in the middle of his cancer treatment when he did it. He had also done a Johnny Cash cover god will cut you down and Mariah Carey without you and lots of another gold I promise that you won't be disappointed.

This isn't a Whitney Huston song, she did a cover of it. Dolly Parton did and performed this song. Erik Grönwall is the Swedish rock and heavy metal singer, singer-songwriter and actor who started his career when he in December 2009 won the Swedish Idol reality television. His first single, “Higher”, sold gold on digital downloads after only three days and the first album, self-titled “Erik Grönwall”, was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Artists such as Joey Tempest (Europe) and Paul Stanley (KISS) wrote songs for the album. In 2010, he joined the rock band H.E.A.T as their lead singer and released four albums with the band. Altogether as a solo artist and band member, he has numerous top 40 hits. In 2018 he made his acting debut in America in the NBC live television concert production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar, in which he received a Grammy nomination for in the Best Musical Theater Album category. In March 2022 Grönwall announced that he would be joining American heavy metal band Skid Row as their new vocalist. Grönwall left Skid Row in March 2024 to prioritize his recovery against leukemia. He even does a really nice cover of Mariah Carey's Without You that you should listen to!

@@StefanRixö absolutely Lambert. He has a great solo career plus he is the new front man for lengedary rock band Queen. A few you should check out Adam and Queen “The show must go on” and solo singles live versions of “Closer to You” and acoustic version of “On the Moon”. Sleepwalker is crazy. Also check out his American Idol songs: Cange is Going To Come and Whole Lot Of Love.

Have a listen to Erik Gronwall's version of Iron Maidens Hallowed be thy name to see his rock side . Another difficult song to sing that he slays with perfection .

Eriks fantastic, I'd suggest checking out his cover of either "headless cross" or "highway star" to hear his true rock side. Also suggest Dan Vasc, Tommy Johannson, and Girish Pradhan for some other amazing metal singers (classic metal lots of belting and high notes), Dan's the best though
