The song is not about finding her voice. She has a sister who has a hearing disability and is also nonverbal. The song is about their relationship and connection and how they're able to communicate without words. She started using sign language with her singing because of her sister and also did it on the german version of the voice kids. The sign language she is using for the song is a different form of sign language that is used to support verbal communication. The song is a bit repetetive in my opinion, but there's going to be a dancebreak for the finale so I guess that's going to help. And the staging also looks really pretty! ❤ Anyway, as someone from Germany, I am very proud of Fia and wish her the best of luck! ❤🇩🇪

The song is about how FIA and her sister communicate, without words, yet are so deeply connected to each other. In a contest where songs are often in a language we do not know, this message of connection existing beyond understanding each others' words rings so true for not just those with hearing impairments, but for all fans of Eurovision who find themselves connecting to music in languages they do not know.

The song is about the connention between Fia and her little sister, Emilia. Emilia is deaf and she's unable to speak, so Fia communicate with her in American sing language, and that's why the title of the song is 'Ohne Worte' (it means: without word)

thanks for listening to my countries entry. The song is about, how she doesn´t need words to communicate with her little sister, who doesnt speak(the other darkhaired girl in the video). "ohne Worte" literally means "without words" and she talks about, how at the beginning it was just with a sound, but they always understood each other, "like soulmates". As for the signlanguage, I do not know much myself, so feel free to correct me, but I´ve heard, that she uses "wortbegleitende Gebärdensprache", so a form of signlanguage, that is meant to be used alongside spoken or sung words. I'm not shure about the difference, but it may have to do with bending the grammar, so the words happen at the same time?

Love your reactions! About the sign languages, every country has one - even a single country can have different ones depending on the language communities living within it (i.e. in Spain there is Spanish sign language - LSE and Catalan sign language - LSC), and there is also a standardized international sign system that it is not using mainly as a language itself but as a communication system in international conferences for deaf communities.

I love the song too. Yes, every country has their own sign language. In the UK we use BSL (British Sign Language), the USA uses ASL (American Sign Language) and in the video Fia uses DGS (German Sign Language). Many sign languages originate from another, e.g many sign languages in Africa, Asia and South America stem from ASL as Americans introduced ASL to deaf communities that didn't have a proper sign language, but then later evolved with the adding of their own signs and there are countries that have more than one sign language. And there are villages where signing is the norm, even among hearing people, due to many people being born deaf in those villages. I could go on but I'll stop now. :)

I love Germany's JESC entry. As far as I know there is British Sign Language and American Sign Language maybe Universal Sign Language too?? Fia looks kinda like me. I really want to learn British Sign Language.
