As she performed on dutch tv show beste zangers...all of her performances were amazing( and the faces of anazement of the fellow dutch singers priceless) she did it all, opera,pop, in german in dutch in english and even in spanish..with the highlight the best phantom of the opera performance ever she did with henk poort..you will be amazed check it out!

Most versatile? Maybe. Best? A very risky statement. She is good at everything, but against a top notch specialist of a certain style she would definitely lose. Let her sing the Queen of the night against Anna Netrebko, and I would bet on Anna. Let her sing the Phantom of the Opera against Sarah Brightman, and Sarah would win. And let her sing Wishwaster against Tarja, and Tarja would win.
@TheGrimmReaper13 жыл бұрын
@@Nikioko turn it around and then ask yourself, could all the performers you sum up do the same as floor. Hell no the cant. They are hooked in one style while floor can sing everthing. So compare to specialists is dumb as hell. So no pont taken . Show me each of them do the same at any style and do it better then floor you win. But i can tell you right now you loose big time. Btw my 2 cents on your topic.

@@TheGrimmReaper1 You obviously don't get the point and seemingly don't want to get it. I invited you to look for new horizons but you prefer to stay in familiar waters and claim to have seen the world although yyou know so little. "Floor can sing everything" is just a statement that can easily be denied. Just a drop in a lake. Sure she can do a lot, but by far she can't do everything. I really would like to listen to her singing in a vocal ensemble where she has to sing with 3, 5 or 7 other people. She has a very strong and dominant voice which is absolutely unsuitable for that. I heard from an opera choir director that the most difficult thing is to form 20 or 40 professionals to a unit. The stronger the vibrato, the bigger the difficulty. Another point: If you study music, or anything else, you eventually reach the point where you have to specialise. Just because other people work in that niche they have chosen doesn't mean that they can't do anything else. I recently heard in a video about a comparison with Pat Benatar. Well, Pat Banatar has her typical rock style of singing we know from the 80s, but she is also a studied opera singer like her mother. So, just because she doesn't sing opera doesn't mean she can't. There is a difference between what people can do and what they actually do. Floor does a lot and shows a lot, but there are also things she doesn't do. All these examples when she sings "operatic": Tarja is an opera singer singing the traditional style (though she took some pop lessons), Floor isn't. She sings something that sounds somewhat like opera but in fact isn't. Floor is more like a musical theatre cross-over singer like Sarah Brightman. I hope you know that The Phantom of the Opera isn't an opera but a musical. Voice is such an individual instrument that in the high end the technical differences are marginal but the individual anatomy maked them distinguishable. And finally you haven't understood Nightwish's song. In The Greatest Show on Earth, they quote Dawkins: "But who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton." And of course singers greater than Floor. She is truly a great singer but definitely not the best singer in the world. At least not by valid standards.

And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing in Wacken Open Air 2013, in front of 82k+ metal fans. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). It is with love and empathy that I say: a reaction vid can be expected to have pauses in which reactions can be given. Cuts and skips are something else: like in Monty Python: "skip a bit brother" i.e. "not interesting" or "my attention span isn't that long"; or the presumed attention span of the viewers isn't! @@bleaksnatcher Agreed. I fear we, the subscribers, are part of the problem. In our requests we are hyping singers like Floor to vocal coaches/professional singers to react on them. Together we tend to put an over focus on the tricks a vocalist can do - because she is great! E.g. phenomenal reach! From that point it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy... Things beside the singing and the tricks become obligatory surroundings and can be sacrificed because they are not what it's all about. Floor stands her ground but her delivering of "tricks" is always serving to express the lyrics and feel of the song. In this, she cannot flourish without the band members and you can feel their mutual appreciation. We, the fans, love this glorious mixture. It is totally different from solo global stars like Dimash. They go on stage to deliver acrobacy. For me the ears register but my heart is not reached... I think all in all this was a positive reaction and I appreciate her very much, especially for speaking out in the racial problems now erupting all over USA.

Them being symphonic metal allows them to take their music in several different directions. They have the long epic multipart full production type songs like Ghost Love Score, The Poet and the Pendulum or The Greatest Show on Earth.. Then they have several of the more classic thrash heavy metal style songs like Romanticide, Song of Myself or Dark Chest of Wonders.. They even have a very celtic rock sound going on in songs like E'lan or My Walden.. You chose, but the Nightwish Army loves it all..

Hello Tina - First let me say that I appreciate all your efforts in reacting to all styles of music and think you did a great job. When it comes to Nightwish don’t worry about the length of the video. Some songs of there’s are long by just about anyone’s standards others are not but that is part of the journey and Thomas’s (composer) musical thought. Even if you choose not to publicly react to more songs I highly in courage you to dive deeper into there catalog as a musician I think you would appreciate the musicianship of all the artists. To the community... I am new here so could someone explain to me why this reaction has, at the time I’m typing this 103 negatives. Is it because Tina decided to skip a little of the interlude? If this is the case I would remind all of you who are angry that this is a vocal coach reaction channel and there will be pauses and skips. If you wish to listen to the song without stops and skips I suggest you go to the official Nightwish KZbin channel. On the other hand if it is simply because this isn’t your kind of music I can respect that but music is defined as: vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) combined in such a way to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. I believe Music in all it’s forms should be appreciated because like the definition says it expresses our emotions even if we can’t. Something to think about: Think of all your major life moment’s... How many of those moments involved music in some way. Of those moments that involved music how many styles...

Nightwish are my favourite band, but beware the intolerant fans who don't like skipping bits of the song. They probably won't like the Evanescence comparison either, although one of their albums sold more copies than the whole discography of Nightwish. Glad you liked the song, this whole concert is a masterclass of live performance 🤘

Thanks @slash1971 Unfortunately I cannot create a reaction to everyone's taste and that is ok. However, projecting negativity across a channel that promotes positivity and the love of all music is not something that will be welcome on this page. It's the old school saying that if you have nothing nice or constructive to say, don't say it at all.

Nightwish has grown steadily like in metal it usually is. They are one of biggest European bands of their generation now after 24 years. Evanescence has very different story. Their biggest success came right after their debut album. It was the time in early 2000's when alternative rock/metal and nu metal was very popular. Linkin Park's debut album also came out back then and was huge success.

Amy Lee? This was a league above Amy Lee. ;-) It is funny that it seems that in the US people only know Evanascence. In Europe, there are many symphonic metal bands with a female singer: Epica, The Gathering, Within Temptation, Haggard, Rhapsody of Fire, Therion, Xandria, Delain etc. You might want to listen to one of these. And most of these bands are either from Sweden, Finland, Germany or the Netherlands.

Floor is metal singer who can do opera. She is the front woman of Nightwish. Try Romanticide next. This is where you can see she is a metal singer.

Actually, Floor's had very little (year or two at most) straight opera training, and has said it's not her favorite style. Even in this song, she doesn't really do much of it. Check out the Tampere '15 version of Stargazers or Villa Leid from Beste Zangers to see her go "full" opera. Oh, and as for the G3 & Guthrie Govan shoutouts...um, will you marry me hahaha? Guthrie is an amazing players (same with Satch, Vai, and Lukather). I've seen a couple of the G3 shows over the years...they're always great. Saw Vai on his last tour...great show, but *crushingly* loud. I usually don't use ear plugs, but I was wishing I had 'em for that show. I didn't get a pick from Steve, but I did snag a drumstick from Jeremy Colson \m/

Guys, Cut Coach Tina a little slack here for fast-forwarding slightly through the interlude, by doing so indicates that this was her first viewing and she wouldn't have known how long it would last !! If you have a look at her other reactions, most are not more than 6 minutes, so this was a biggie 😉 As for the "girl" comment, I'm sure Floor would be flattered, considering she was 32 at the time 😊😊 In my opinion Tina gave a fair, honest and respectful critique to a performance and performers she had never experienced before !! By her comments at the end I think she really enjoyed it !! 😊😊

@@slash-1971 If a reactor is disrespectful, a fan of any band or artist won't like it. Some of these comments are hilarious!! Self appointed Nightwish ambassadors, how to instructions for someone else's channel and complaining about skipping a time fill which is ear candy to me, but not part of a voice reaction obviously. If everyone was as smart as these people the world would be a better place.... All that nonsense aside, I enjoyed this reaction and I like watching you when you enjoy a song, it is a treat for me. I love this song and have seen dozens of reactions to it and watched the video on its own several times. These guys are great musicians, and Floor Jansen is an excellent singer. I don't know off hand any current live performances I would like to see, but if I could turn back time, I would love to see Pink Floyd, Boston, Rush, Tears For Fears, or the Alan Parsons Project live. I could go on and on with the list, but those are the top bands that come to mind at the moment. Stay safe out there and thanks for sharing this reaction!

Re: Q: Live show I would most like to see?: Currently there is no show on earth that can beat Rammstein. Here is a link to one of the best fan-shot videos I have found from their recent tour: KZbin.com/watch?v=Bzy5C4xwhvU. Or the best example of the sheer size of their massive light and pyrotechnics display: KZbin.com/watch?v=ST6qj-v-8Ys. For Symphonic Metal, I might enjoy watching "Imperial Age" from Russia. Three singers: two female soprano and one male tenor: see esp. their recent "Official Video -- Legacy of Atlantis": KZbin.com/watch?v=uv-yZkRd0fE. Co-founder Evgeniya (Jane) Odintsova was previously a medical doctor in Russia (gynecologist), leaving that for opera and co-founding the band in 2012. Fellow soprano Anna Moiseeva is a classical pianist (she posts videos of this on her webpage), who completed the basic 4-year music degree at her local college, then entered, and in 2019 successfully completed, the further 5-year Specialist Degree: "Director of Musical Theater" at the Russian Institute of Theater Arts in Moscow (GITIS). The video uses a backing orchestra and choir; I don't know which orchestra, but the choir used was the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory Chamber Choir, conducted by Taras Yasenkov, Assistant Professor at the Moscow State Conservatory. (Do you have any opinions on the GITIS institute or the Moscow State Conservatory -- e.g. high, low, medium quality training?). Hope this helps; have a great weekend!
