I get people saying that this should have been the first single and although I do like this single better than Don't Say Love, I do still think Don't Say Love was a smart choice for her first single. At the end of the day Don't Saay Love will stream more and make more rounds on the radio. It was a smart move by her management team cause it has a pop vibe to it, along with other genres.

I think she planned it well l, with her first single being more pop little mix style then diving into the water, emerging out the water in her 2nd single getting back to her roots can't wait to see how the story goes

I understand where you are coming from, and I can imagine Anjelique Kidjo covering this tune, giving it that bit of extra sauce. However, what I like about Leigh Anne is that this song has some rhythmic and melodic complexity, she isn't pitchy, and she has a nice forward placement of her tone. I am glad you are a stickler for diction - that was ingrained into me! Have a good evening on the other side of the pond!

Leigh Anne is super talented. Wasn’t a fan of DSL tbh it just lack luster. Her vevo was much better than the original. My love is amazing though and she doesn’t need anyone she is showing more by herself which is great to see. You should react to her say a little prayer performance and DSL vevo.

Jesy’s second single should have been her first, but she relied on another artist’s fame and a culture that wasn’t hers to propel her to fame, and unfortunately for her, that backfired. She also would have gotten a lot more support had she taken responsibility for her mistakes, but again, she relied on Nicki to fight her battles for her, and blocked anyone who disagreed. Clear case of “shooting yourself in the foot”.
