Tori is definately one of the best vocalists of this generation. She's amazing. 👌 But I agree that Mariah is still queen. The creativity and innovation of Mariah's runs, melismas and riffs, plus how perfectly they complement the melody, is what sets her apart from everyone else in that department. They may be sounding easy to copy, but Mariah's riffs and runs are the hardest to imitate. They are that complex. I'm not saying that Tori's are not that hard, but there are a lot of covers that literally hers were imitated by the singers perfectly. So, yes, I also think Mariah Carey is the empress of riffs and runs.

I really rate Tori Kelly, exceptionally talented. Mariah (in her prime) was just in a league of her own that very few can touch. I agree that You And I was a bit much at this very end, but she pretty much sang it like Stevie (well, she added a whistle) and it worked in context of a more subdued beginning. Both these tributes are thought to be some of her all time best performances by the lambily.
