Well I'm new to this channel, and I think your overall reaction was great, but I have to say that this whole tendency towards the "reality TV show quick-cut interview" style is driving me to distraction. I know it's one of those things we've seen done by supposedly professional outfits that put together reality shows, so you think it will make your product look professional, but it does, in fact, make it extremely hard to watch. Bear in mind it was originally employed in clips that were only a few seconds long, where the producers were intentionally manipulating a reality personality's words to fit their script, not full-length things like this. I'm sorry, I'd love to watch more of your content, but the whole quick-cut thing is just too much to bear. Nothing personal - you seem like a terrific person - and I'll check back for future videos. Nightwish became an entire band when Floor joined the ranks. I am was the gang who thought that when Tarja left the band, it was in it. But the first time I heard this presentation, I had to admit that Floor is the best thing that Nightwish has come up with. Here are some suggestions for Nightwish with Floor (yes, she is Dutch):: -> "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" (Buenos Aires) will give you a metal and power blast: Maximum speed and Marco (the singing bass player) becomes Hannibal Lecter ;-) -> "Yours an Empty Hope" from Wembley (have a good look!! at the growls. You'll be surprised.) -> „Dead Boys Poem“ from Buenos Aires (so amazing and emotional) -> „Weak Fantasy“ (Tampere): Kai the beastat the drums, Troy joins in, great duets with Floor and Marco, … -> Elvenjig / Elvenpath (Buenos Aires): Awesome intro and it continues on that level -> "The greatest Show on Earth" (Tampere) is one of the two most epic songs. The title is not about the gig, but about the topic of the song: The evolution of mankind. -> "The Poet and the Pendulum“ (Wembley) is my personal absolute masterpiece of Nightwish. Be sure to know the background of this song ahead (short version see below *) -> There are a couple of great songs from Wacken: „Story Time“ and "Ever Dream" are catchy in a very positive way. "Song of Myself" starts catchy and ends with everyone headbanging. "Romanticide", "Last Ride of the Day" and "Ghostriver" are the heavier ones. ***** From the new album there are for obvious reasons no live sessions so far. For all songs there are lyric videos, except this one. But maybe you'll give some songs a try as well. It's an awesome album. Definitely not an "easy" one with a lot of really unique songs, different from what is "typical" for Nightwish. Floor said that she was really challenged to sing the songs that Tuomas wrote for her. Knowing her abilities, you can imagine that they are "special“. „ -->"Noise" is probably the most "typical" song and the only one with "real video". The video is great as the song itself --> "Tribal" is the heaviest one and Kai, the drummer, had to change his normal setup to be able to play it. --> "Shoemaker" (about Eugene Shoemaker) is such a heavenly and epic song with the possible epic ending. -> „Pan“ is just an amazing ride. When it starts you for a moment think you‘re listening to Floors husbands band „Sabaton“. In the song you‘ll be reminded to „Tribal“ and „Noise“. -> Procession“ a rather calm song with so amazing vocals by Floor --> "Harvest" is so different with Troy singing, that you will wonder if you're listening to Nightwish. -> „Endlessness“ is Marcos song and shows his great voice. --> "Music", „How's the Heart", ... are really cool songs as well. Of course. From "How's the Heart" exists also an acoustic version only with Troy at the guitar from "Planet rock" The album challenged Floor as singer, which is not easy to do, as she is one of the best and most versatile singers in the world. ***** If you'd like to Explore Floor on her own: Beste Zangers Just in case (which I can really recommend) you're going to do "Beste Zangers" make sure you take the clips posted by "jenniezelf" on KZbin as she has also included the talking / interviews before and after with english subtitles. The concept of the show is, that on one day all singers sing a song for one of them. It's a song that is by that singer or a song that means a lot for him / her. So it is very interesting to get to know the story behind each song. And it will help to understand the reactions of the other singers. Floor is singing there in German, Dutch, Spanis and English. Her "Phanom of the Opera" duet with Henk Poort is legendary. ***** * Backstory for „Poet and the Pendulum“ Tuomas (the keyboarder and songwriter) was in depression after the split from their first singer Tarja. He was in the position to either commit suicide in real real life or to write a song about it and die within that song. Luckily he choose the latter option. He is the poet, "killed" by the pendulum. And afterwards there is darkness, silence and just a fading heartbeat. It gives me a shiver every time. As this song is so emotional for him all the others have an eye on him. There is a symphony orchestra's backing track with a choir. The band and Floor are live. Jukka the drummer is responsible for timings. Tuomas's organ "thing" is for theatrics, impressive though. This show is the best live show that I've ever seen. Everything is first class on this dvd. Other good shows are Tampere 2015, Wembley arena 2015 and Buenos Aires 2018. Greetings from Finland!

Thank you for the review; I always enjoy listening to a professional vocal coach more when watching reaction videos. If you could provide additional insight into Floor's singing, two areas I would like discussed are BELTING technique, and its opposite, SOFTNESS. For belting, Floor's rendition of "Que Se Siente" in the Beste Zangers 2019 series is I feel is the most dramatic; and for softness, her recent solo rendition for the WarChild charity of the song "De Beelden Blijven" has extremely soft vocals. Juxtaposing both of these songs together in the same review would be a great idea, in illustrating her range and, without meaning to criticize anyone else, to compare with, e.g., Lady Gaga or Evanescence.

I only have a tip, try to comment where you feel there is an instrumental section. Well, looks like almost everything has already been suggested, so I will suggest something different :-) How's the Heart - live acoustic: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4rXnIOme76thdE This is a song from the new album, but performed only by Floor and Troy. This in my mind shows the other side of Nightwish and also this song is a great example of how good Floor really is, because this song is hellish difficult to sing. Tuomas I guess likes to use his instruments to their full potential ;-) Nice reaction, reminded me how I just came back to Nightwish after forgetting them in the early 2000s. Stay save Dirk

I'm agreeing with the comment section, with Nightwish you need to feel the music not talk right through the song. Copyright yes you gotta pause not the entire song though. Aren't you supposed to feel the music when you're singing a song so you can the emotion of the song?? You can't do that if you talk right through it.
