There are a few singers who can sing in a language that I don't understand and still move me to tears. Ofra Haza is one, Lara Fabian another, and even Nina Hagen's song "Gretchen" affects me. But, Ofra Haza... She means a lot to me because of the life she led and how she died. One day I was very sad and cried a bit while cleaning my apartment listening to and harmonizing with Ofra Haza singing You've Got a Friend (Live) - her last public appearance before she died. And when she got to the part "You'll hear me knocking at your door" someone knocked on my door right on que. KNOCK KNOCK. I lived in a security building so it was a common occurence, and I half expected to see Ofra standing there when I opened the door. But, I realized at that moment that she may be gone from us, but as long as her music is in someone's heart, that she is immortal. I also came to me that she is heaven's purest voice. When she died, the Prime Minister of Israel called her Israel's unofficial Ambassador of Music, because she sang in Arabic to as she was half Israeli and half Yemminite, and there were Arabs who mourned her death as well. She could do a concert in Turkey and people who may have had feelings about each other came together through music, even if it was only for that evening. She was beautiful and kind and I cried hearing this song... and then you stopped the music and went back to the beginning. lol.

@eurech Жыл бұрын
@@waymilky442 The so called struggles would end if the Palestinians stopped bombing, stabbing, and shooting Jewish civilians. Toning down their historic anti-semitism would help a lot. When you have 93% of the population that shows Jewish hatred, it is something wrong with that population. Also keep your politics bs out of music and arts.

She was quite popular in Italy - she did a cover of a Raf song called "Today I'll pray" (the original is called "Oggi un Dio non ho", from Raf). When I read her story, long ago, I felt really bad. She was just beautiful with a very powerful yet delicate tone. You know, you should react to "Hommage à Violette Nozieres" or "Il bandito del deserto" from Area (the singer was Demetrio Stratos, you should know him and if you don't, you should... trust me). I'm subscribing to your channel and I really hope you'll grasp this. Cheers from Italy!

If I recall correctly, I bought her cassette with "In My Prayer" on it in 1988 or so. Hard to believe it's been 35 years. Your commentary is excellent. I also enjoyed your reactions to Rush. Very different vocalists, but one knows music which moves you when one hears it. I'll look forward to finding anything you do of Judas Priest or Queensryche if you venture toward classic metal. Ofra Haza was so brilliant; always a pleasure.

I wish she had not left this world so young so she could have blessed us longer, with more treasures. Please keep up the great videos.... it's nice to hear your impressions on these wonderful vocalists. Namaste! 🙏
