Ms. Regine Velasquez-Alcasid ( 47 ) burst into the International scene when she won the Asia-Pacific Song Contest in 1989 representing the Philippines at age 19. Since then she has been an icon in the entertainment industry in the PH as a singer/actress/music producer. She is affectionately called by people as Asia's Songbird for her impeccable singing prowess. She can definitely match the best singers back in the 80's, 90's such as Whitney & Mariah, of course without the benefit of videos, and You Tube back then, we really cannot appreciate her unfounded talent until now. Today she is the ultimate idol of all female singers in the PH, such as Morissette Amon, Sarah Geronimo to name a couple of icons now. Check out her 'BREATHTAKING' performance of WHAT KIND OF FOOL AM I on stage while sitting on the floor on a red dress. Definitely worth watching. She was the first ever Filipino singer/artist to appear on music scene and started those high, powerful long note belting before some of those young ladies you've reacted then. She sets the standard so high that every song she sang will never be sung by another artist. And she can still hit those powerful notes and belts even today in her 40's. Morisette, Katrina and many young aspiring singer we have today in the philippines were looking up to her as their idol, inspiration and mentor. Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez born April 22, 1970) is a Filipino singer, actress and record producer. Seriously what I found most amazing with Regine is 1. her total mastery of the dynamics of her voice (she can sing any note soflty or loudly/with resonance without effort) and 2. her incredible high belts. She sounds so full, supported, powerful and resonant while belting these insane high notes. And her tone is superb. It is pretty rare to both have power/technicity and an amazing beautiful tone at the same time. Kudos to Regine.

loydie Corcuera ang daming may favorite jan hindi nman smooth lol. hirap pa un mukha nya duon masyado hindi rin sustainable un birit nya sa huli. what was just set apart from her other what kind of fool performance, sa araneta nya un kinanta at may standing ovation sa dulo. she just sang it in big crowd thats it. realtalk. technicality wise madaming flaws un performance nya duon. pero un mga ibang reginian kung ano anong ka dramahan ang iniinput kesyo ganyan..etc. lol. boses nga ang nirereact dva?? hindi yung story. some rvf are annoying related lol.
