This entire session is a treat. Spotify arranged for a group of 50 'superfans' to attend, and you have that perfect combination of the intimacy of a small gig, studio quality audio, and the veterancy of musicians who've been performing together for decades. It all comes together for an absolutely perfect performance.

This became an anthem where I was working when it first came out. Two departments working side-by-side in a bleak, grey warehouse. Each department was allowed a radio, but the catch was both radios had to be on the same station. Songs like this one helped get us through the work week. It would have been hellish without the music. Great bunch of guys and girls. Best group of co-workers I ever worked with.

I got to see her live in my hometown in Omaha Nebraska and she said we looked tired so she mooned everyone to wake us up! It worked! 😂😂😂 Her set was awesome too, it was just her and her guitar/pedals for most of the songs and she was able to make it really dynamic and interesting all by herself.

Never listened close to the lyrics, so I had to look them up: Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears for Fears Welcome to your life There's no turning back Even while we sleep We will find you Acting on your best behaviour Turn your back on mother nature Everybody wants to rule the world It's my own design It's my own remorse Help me to decide Help me make the Most of freedom and of pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do, I'll be right behind you So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world I can't stand this indecision Married with a lack of vision Everybody wants to rule the world Say that you'll never, never, never, never need it One headline, why believe it? Written by Roland Orzabal, Ian Stanley and Chris Hughes. They wrote this as the late last addition to the album. Producer Chris Hughes created the shuffle and programmed it. He told RO to strum 2 chords throughout the 2 verses. RO thought it was boring 😴 Yet, the song is the biggest hit for TFF! 🤯 Curt Smith sings lead vocal. He still sounds like the recording! 😃So does RO! 😃 This song is also the inspiration for Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone, written by Alan Frew, Sam Reid and Jim Vallance, performed by Glass Tiger 🐅, where AF sings lead vocal and SR plays keyboards, and Can't Stop This Thing We Started, written by Bryan Adams and Mutt Lange, sung by BA.

This whole concert is great; I suggest reacting to Tears for Fears' 'The Working Hour' from the same Spotify Landmark Sessions. It is an album cut and fan favorite. They rarely perform it live because they need a saxophone player on stage to do so. The Spotify Landmark performance of 'The Working Hour' is what got me to look more deeply into Tears for Fears' catalog. Previous to that, I had only known their radio hits. They are currently touring their new album, and both the album and tour are getting rave reviews.

@@RandomJane104 indeed they do. I think that depth is why the new album is resonating so deeply with people. Every time I see a social media post or KZbin video of Tears for Fears performing, even their new music--the comments are all positive. People seem overjoyed that this duo is back with a message for us in 2022. I think their music is needed right now to get through challenging times; they are the perfect band to speak to that, in my opinion.
