One thing you should know is that we Filipinos love love love karaoke, one of the reasons why we love to sing.. it is one of our favorite past times.. anywhere you go, you’ll probably hear someone singing.. even when i was young i was exposed to different kinds of music, i can still remember singing along to a minus one (instrumentals of a song). and that carries into adulthood.. there are a lot of singing contests especially in the provinces/rural areas, most of the time songs being sung were ballads or those with a very high and powerful notes.. i bet you’ll enjoy visiting here.. one of my fave Katrina (with BUDAKHEL) song is their cover of One Sweet Day.. hope you check that one out as well.. another artist i love is KZ Tandingan, her cover of Rolling in the Deep for the show “Singer 2018” is sooooo good.. i always love your reactions, esp the BTS ones and our amazing Filipino singers. hope you’ll check more.. much love to you Richard and Johnny.. 💜

Love that you discovered another of the vast array of excellent singers from the Phillippines. Katrina is up there with Morisette on the female vocal royalty there. She has many songs of her own and I also suggest her collabs with the three male singers, all with their own careers who call themselves BuDaKhel when they come together as a group. The trio and Katrina do a cover of Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's One Sweet Day that is fabulous and Katrina's performance there is just stellar. Other commenters have mentioned some other sings, but I will add her cover of Celine Dion's I Surrender that she does with Jessica (blanking out on her last name). Funny you mention other singers in this reaction. Katrina has a video with an adorable little girl on her lap singing Ellie Goulding's Burn while impersonating Goulding, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Shakira, Beyonce, and many more. If you check out that One Sweet Day cover, you'll enter the world of Daryl Ong, known as the King of Runs, who does a Boyz Ii Men medley all by himself, and a Brian McKnight medley, collabs with Morisette, and so much more. He is so excellent. And KZ Tandigan's versions of Rolling In The Deep on China's The Singer show that helped blow Dimash up internationally, and her more jazzy version of that Adele song on the Wish Bus are so, so sweet. Could go on and on, but the amount and high level of vocal and performance talent in that country just seems endless.
