This song "kurniaan dalam samaran" is an old folk japanese music with malaysian lyric.. It is quite difficult song to bring because siti need to apply the japanese style of singing in traditional way especially the vow and the tone. Siti is a creative entertainer bcause she always put an effort in every genre and style of music that she bring such as latin, japanese, mandarin, hindi, and hindustani. 😁. extra info here..the music arrangement & the singing technique she used to sing this song actually adapt from "Japan Traditional style" in which it involves a lot of "melismas" ,in Malaysia we called it as "lenggok" (ups & downs key+volume like a wave) that is the reasons why you can hear a lot of DYNAMICS (low down high up n etc like a wave) this song ,if I am not mistaken, was created by implying Japan traditional singing technique into her pop songs...this is not a traditional malay song but japan tradtional singing style... the climax of her singing when she did the transition from chest to falsetto/headvoice (where there is a intentional BREAK within it you notice it too) That is the moment singing technique she manages to waw Malaysian Indonesian Singaporean Bruneian and people loves it ! automatically people will scream wowwwww when she attacks that part...you can experience it when she sing this song live in her concert ...

Yaz... This is one song that uses a lot of vocal range and techniques. As you would not have been exposed to the variety of Asian style of singing, you would have thought that her techniques were in chaos. This is Malay song. She sang using a Japanese stylistics to achieved that uniqueness and tastes where one know indefinitely this is the song of Japan. This song is not an easy one. As there were many many areas where she needs to be aware of and control. The breath itself is one which delivers effect. The highs and lows in the same bar shows great dynamics and her ability as a singer. Unless you a native, or you have good exposure, singing a Traditional Japanese style song is a feat for others. Nevertheless, kudos to Siti for making music a learning experience. It is not your fault if you don't understand the language or if you are learnt in the western way of music. Because the vast music industry is being dominated by Western music. Indulge in the rest of Asian's music, you might find yourself awed with techniques, notes, beats, methods that cannot be achieved using the western music system. One such, as you had commented quite a few time on your different videos the Melismas (lenggok - in Malay). Go for Traditional Songs, you will discover a lot more. Some smart singers will incorporate those techniques into ballads, pop, etc... Whatever it is, thank you for your Frank reviews. Your teachings have widen the understanding of the music world.
