Its a Pashto song. Dance form is Atan. Harkalay means welcome. Boys with Henna on hands. Its a cultural thing. They put Henna (mehndi) on palm. And just close it. The henna made different shape for each person. It looks so cute Its a cultural thing. When there is no rain.. they color paint the children faces with ash. And they visit every house of village and pray for rain.

Beautiful representation of the KPK province and tribal areas of Pakistan. CS goes above and beyond in terms of creating beautiful storylines and with tons of symbolism. Way too much to unpack here in a comment section but you should watch the "Magical Journey of Harkalay" with subtitles to truly get the full impact.

You think that’s a long song? Coke Studio has had 6-7 minute long songs in previous seasons. By the standards of most CS listeners, 4 minutes is a short song. These are higher standard productions with complete song narratives, complex arrangements and meaningful lyrics, more than most commercial American music listeners are used to or can comprehend. Most people reacting don’t even comment on the instruments, the visual themes etc. I think most Pakistanis and people from the subcontinent will agree that we’re blessed to come from a heritage with such meaningful art forms.
