I like the fact that Winter and Wendy are kind of labeled as vocal sisters here. As expected Winter is SM hidden ace but I recently discovered that Wendy actually debuted with vocal nodules and do pull off the iconic "shine on me" is absolutely amazing. It's amazing that although Winter is in her 2nd year and Wendy is in her 9th I feel like we are yet to see their full potential. In the future I would love to see them on a track together probably r&b but I wouldn't mind a ballad too

I don't think their intent was to discriminate against Ningning because of her nationality. IMO, their perception that Winter is the main vocalist is based on the fact that she usually gets the highlight or climax of their songs, especially title tracks, despite Ningning being OBJECTIVELY better than Winter. Lack of research on the trainers' part, perhaps. But xenophobia? I don't think so. Ps. However, you also can't blame casual listeners if they think differently, because personally, I am beginning to believe that there are two main vocalists in the group: Ningning (based on skills and designation) and Winter (based on the song parts she's been getting). But because she is not Korean and does not meet korean beauty standard, everyone disregards her. I love the comments about WENDY. Although I feel like SM have yet to maximize her full potential. Obviously, with her powerful voice, she’s good with ballads. But SM keeps on locking her to that genre only (except on group songs) when she could actually do ALL genres the she wants, especially r&b. While most international fans in twitter mock Taeyeon and make fun of her bring back issues from more than a decade ago to attack her, You should watch more clips from people in Korean industry, composers, critics, lyricists, even producers outside SM and you will notice how are they mostly a fan of TAEYEON. The rest of these hyped idols are fan driven success by mass bulk buy and stream, Taeyeon is still one of the very very few authentic recognized in the industry and Kpop.

Guys, Ningning debuted as the Main Vocalist of aespa, and it's only fair if she is rightfully given her title. They could have included both Winter and Ningning since both of them are equally popular for their vocals now, or if they had to choose one for the Main Vocal, it should have been Ningning. Or they should have changed the title to "The Representative Vocalists of SM" and not "Main Vocalists of SM". NINGNING IS ALSO A MAIN VOCALIST.

I'm glad they praise Wendy's powerful, technical voice. We know that she is the best vocalist of the 3rd gen. However, I feel like she hasn't shown her true potential yet, her company has stagnated her for so long, therefore i can't wait for her next album, i need her album to explore other concepts, such as the R&B genre because she has it in her blood. If SM will bet on her and promote her properly as theirs other artists, I'm really sure that she'll succeed in the american market, Not for nothing, but I prefer her pre-debut style whe she didn't have the vibes of SM. Sincerely whichever path Wendy chooses I will support her :)
