I am Nephi Acaling. I am native to Bacolod City but currently living outside the Philippines due to job assignment. I’ve lived in different countries like Singapore, Japan and United States due to job assignments. I was in the US when I started this channel thus the confusion to some where I am truly based.
At a time, I was a band vocalist performing every Friday and Saturday night at a local bar chain but recently decided to quit from my band to focus on my KZbin Channel and my full-time job as an engineer.
I was a member of the Filipino Voice Symphony where I was taught by professional chorale singers (e.g. former soprano from UP Madrigal Singers). Our choral group actually bagged the Gold Medal in the International A cappella Championships held in Singapore in 2011.
I was the Glee Club president and was a trainer for various singing competitions when I was in the university - all these were humbling experiences for me.
WHAT IS THE GOAL?
My mission is to promote music among different regions and try to make people from different countries relate to each other through music and singing. I have always believed that even small gestures in understanding similarities and differences towards others may actually lead to greater awareness about countries and their people.
In this modern world full of things that divide humanity, it is but perfect to put efforts in re-uniting and building bridges among all of us.
I have come to a point of trying to find a greater purpose in life, something beyond just being happy for a moment. Happiness in life is more meaningful if we choose to be useful, be honorable, be compassionate, and make a difference.

For us Batak people’s wich is from north sumatra, singing is part of our culture, we sing at every events and opportunity like in church even in funeral events we express our feelings by singing, almost all Batak people can sing even though not all are as great as Maria and Lyodra ... and the stereotype in Indonesia when we meet other tribes and introduce ourselves as Batak people, people will assume and say "oh you are Batakness so you can definitely sing" LOL me myself is a Bataknesse too I can sing but not as good as them but definitely beat the note 😂😂

In North Sumatra there's a tribe "Batak" with their people and language called Bataknese, Batak is a place where u can easily find good even great singers like Judika, Rita Butarbutar, Eddy Silitonga, Lyodra, Maria, Lea Simanjuntak, Joy Tobing, Berlian Hutauruk, Charles Hutagalung, Christine Panjaitan, Diana Nasution, Ikke Nurjanah, Putri Ayu, Rony Sianturi, Sheila Majid, Panbers, Rinto Harahap, Titi DJ, and more.... They usually sing in a church from early age, and take a vocal lessons from parents and private lessons in a vocal coach when teen-age... No wonder Batak is such a massive producer of Great singers, And batak is also known for their face structure that allows them to sing beautifully and loud, there's a cavity between nose and cheeks that will produce more power and allow them to sing that good... Sundanese and Ambonese are also home for GREAT SINGERS!

As you said that there is several good belter from Sumatera like Lea Simanjuntak, Judika, Maria, Lyodra and etc. These are cause of their region where their live are surronded by mountains and distance from a home to other home is quite far. So from they were still a child until they became adult they have to scream loudly when they call or speak one to another one. So it became their natural habit when they speak loudly to other or when they sing a song. That's why so many singer from there who has a good belting in singing. Tx
