To clarify to all of you, as stated later in the manga, he has a mana pool that pretty much rivals that of the goddess herself at this point but the problem is in releasing and using it, because even when he takes off his rings, he still can't release his full power, this is depicted as him having an ocean or river or lake or pond, (one of those) and only being able to take out buckets full of water when the rings are off, also to clarify for you, when he gets stronger its because of this reason... When he concentrates on arrow practice alone ( which at this point he does it to release stress and anxiety) , he is essentially killing himself and reviving himself over and over which is one way to increase your mana pool in this world which is why on top of him having plenty of mana at the beginning, his mana pool kept increasing, the proof of this is the pocket dimension expanding and getting bigger in correlation to how much more does his mana pool increase

A lot of people seem to really think that he's cursed, so let me clear that out for you, This will include some novel spoilers though, so be careful. Mc is not actually cursed, and never was. Goddess never did anything negative to him. Well, except throwing him out on a battlefield. What she did was giving him a "universal language understanding" power, and then excluded the hyuman language from it. In the future he actually makes a deal with her, he saves the hero from death, and she gives him full ability for that. He also almost died because the full ability was too powerful for his brains to handle. So no, the reason why he could not speak hyuman language even after he learned it, is because that language in itself is not a normal language, it is given to people by Goddess, and you can only speak it if you're blessed by her. To further prove that point, if he really was cursed to not be able to speak hyuman language, the ring Lancer used in this fight would've lifted the curse and made him able to speak properly, but that didn't happen. This guy and Rimiru do the overpowered characters right. Both could easily obliterate nations with narry a hint of trouble. Instead, they just work to live their lives the best they can and only fight when provoked. I'm short on the context of why this happened, but I do know that some people he cared about had gotten killed prior to this, much in the same vein of Tempest being attacked and many of Rimuru's friends getting killed. Silent fury is the best kind of fury.

yeah, kinda sad they rushed things here, this to me was an important buildup but they rushed it. they also changed things around (forgot to show the wind sealing, made him use 5 rings of draupnir instead of the one he used in manga, showing him explaining how he was going to handicap himself for this battle to practice his magic, etc etc)

Having the viewers not know everything happening behind the scenes surrounding the war and the other heroes just helps add to the viewers' understanding of how sudden it was and how confused Makoto was throughout it all. Side stories irrelevent to the MC can always be shown in flashbacks later on. The information about the wind magic being sealed is unnecessary/redundant, and the same goes for any extra inner monologues (which there is a ton of in manga/webnovels and would take a strange amount of time to express in the middle of a fight since it's an animation). Not everything needs to be exactly identical to the original work for it to be a good adaptation. Constantly expecting it to be so will only make it less enjoyable for you.

Remember, his gift comes from Tsukuyomi's leftover power (which is just a tiny bit of his Tsuko power but it's A LOT) and he has leftover power from his parents which is A LOT too (since his parents are a god-level being). also in manga, he explained. he has an ocean of mana but only a bucket he can use. which is means, this power (in this video) just a bucket of water out of an ocean. the story itself is great. I recommend all of you to read the manga, since a lot of things this anime skipped.

Tbh that's how I feel about most anime adaptations of a novel that I read lol. Most fight scenes are better in my head, like in Tensura (Slime) for example (it's good if I think of it as a standalone anime, but I get disappointed when I think about it as an adaptation of a novel I like). As for this particular anime, I haven't actually watched it, just this clip and maybe a few more. But from what I can see, the magic looks ok. My biggest problem in most adaptations is that they can't seem to make how I imagine high-speed combat would be like. Not just in this anime, but in most recent ones (by recent, I'm also including the ones from, say, 2-3 years ago). For example, in the novels that I read, they claim that the characters move faster than the eye could follow, but in the anime adaptations, they move in normal speed. Older animes can show this no problem tho (like Naruto, Bleach etc), but the newer ones don't or can't for some reason. It honestly ruins it for me. It's why I sometimes don't watch anime adaptations of novels and mangas I like. Like, I can't see the difference between the strong and the weak since they all move in the same speed. In the novels, the weak can't see the movements of the strong. It's how you know that their gap in strength is huge. Of course, I'm pretty sure there are some exceptions, tho I can't name one from the top of my head, but I'm talking about in general. Btw this "high-speed movement" I'm talking about and looking for is mostly seen in fantasy settings, like isekai, where they have physical reinforcement magic or something, so I understand some action anime not having them. Sorry for ranting lmao. Haven't watched Seirei Gensouki yet but I hope it's good. It's my favorite LN as of now.
