‘Voice is dead’: Andrew Bolt blasts Yes campaign’s ‘elitism’

Sky News host Andrew Bolt has blasted the Voice to Parliament referendum after recent polling showed support dropped to a “new low” at 36 per cent.
“What a disaster … in less than one year the ‘Yes’ campaign has lost almost half the huge support it had last year,” Mr Bolt said.
“How could it have all gone so bad for the Yes23 campaign when it had the support of most of Australia’s big business, massive donations of cash and kind, the support of Australia’s top sporting codes as well, and universities … and so many celebrities - how could they now lose?"
Mr Bolt said one reason the Voice is dead is because of “nagging" and "bullying” from the 'Yes' campaign.
“Who thought Australians would actually go for that? All for that patronizing elitist movement so out of touch,” he said.
“Dividing Australians by race just stinks - it’s racist.
“Australians just don’t want the country divided by race - is that really so hard to understand.”

The irony of the proposed Voice is that ordinary average indigenous adults have a guaranteed say/vote for members of state and federal parliament but would NOT have a guaranteed say/vote on who the representatives for the Voice would be. Thus some indigenous individuals and groups were sure to be disenfranchised. And what’s more they woke up to this fairly early on in the referendum campaign … and their efforts to sink this have been born out. But if you think a handpicked selected indigenous élite should be allowed to speak for all indigenous peoples … go ahead and vote Yes. You may have other reasons, of course, but of the élite, by the élite, for the élite does have its attractions …
