Kham Vo , you are right. Like most songs that she sings. If listen to Adele sing , A million years ago, it sounds great. Than you listen to Angelina sing it, and the texture and flavor and soul that she is able to communicate, well this 12 year old child is better than Adele. She is my daily drug.

I am 75 years old I've been listening to music on my life even though I can't sing a note this little girl is the best singer ever of either gender and of any age group she is the best ever she has a thousand different voices hard to believe at that young age and even when she was a lot younger she actually feels and becomes what she is singing and understands a lot of it even with adult content

As much as I wanted Angelina to stick with jazz and blues where I think her comfort zone is... She has to explore and she's in the process of exploring things out, learning new stuff and developing her already full set of skills. And as good as she is now we have to remember that she's only 14. And she still have a full decade to develope and perhaps be in her prime. So the next years or so will going to be a treat for all her fans and those who love music in general. Coz there's a big possibility that she will go full swing in the days ahead.☺️

You mentioned that you were not familiar with this song. I was very familiar with this song. I listened to Lana's original of this song many times in the 6 years between its release and Angelina's cover. As someone so familiar with it, I can say... nobody can cover this song like Angelina. There are so many Lana specific details that she is putting on this, yet at the same time it is very Angelina. To me this is Angelina giving herself yet another challenge. She seems to always be exploring, and always challenging herself. You also talked about how she "goes into" the song like a pro. I have noticed over the years that the very best singers close their eyes, and use their hands. Angelina does that, and she does it in such a natural way. It's not a deliberate part of the performance.. it's just what she is feeling.

The thing about Lana Del Rey and most of her songs,is that she has that unique,somewhat deep sound to her vocals. But i kid you not,Angelina has a deeper sounding voice then Lana has on this😂It is as funny as it is interesting and quite amazing. From the age 6-14 i could not sound that deep,for the life of me. So Angelina is one unique young lady for sure!🤔

I considered this a master piece. Angelina's hand movement puts her on the right spot mentally. I'm very particular when somebody sings in a low voice and most singers end just talking and sounds very questionable. I think Angelina is the very best at singing in a lower voice.

Angelina has tried a lot of different songs and styles, and that is indeed much of the reason I believe she will be one of the greatest singers of all times. Just singing old jazz songs would give her a career, but to get into the top tier of stars she (or somebody in her team) will need to reinvent music and create songs that will live for decades. On that note, I will suggest that you react to one of her originals: Shield (kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4akp3ilhd2BrNk). This video is from a concert in Norway with about 200 people, and this is at the very end where she had finished ther concert and is playing a last song after the audience applause. She asks the audience what they want her to sing :-).

I enjoyed your reaction, as always, Valerie! It's seems evident that Angelina is exploring her voice and continuing to develop the various facets of voice control as her body matures. I think the only example of her going into head voice (I don't think it's pure falsetto, something for and expert like you to determine) is the very end of this song...one you certainly must know quite well, "Unchained Melody": kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXK3doqwf92dac0 (Also, Angelina changed one word in Born to Die, "..let me HUG you hard in the pouring rain.." while Lana del Ray's original says "kiss" rather than hug. Some folks were attributing this to her age, but "hug" simply fits in the line more smoothly in my opinion. She's not reserved about using the word kiss.It's yet another example of the maturity of her musicality.)

The interpretation, the emotion, yes! And it's unfortunate that many who listen to pop singers, even the new ones on the scene who sing very "emotionally," don't discern the difference between them and what Angelina or Grace Vanderwaal deliver in a performance. Such a difference between those two and others who try to create an emotional tone as an aspect of their performance, not an aspect of themselves.

Angelina prefer jazzy stuff as she performs at conserts, but at this home studio, her major stage, I think for a couple of years, she appears frequently as she tryes out several styles and possibilitys. So dear Valerie, I would so much love to see and hear you react to Angelinas wonderful performance of "A Song for A". This is a classical romantic song, composed in 2018/19 by Nico Cartosio, a russian classic music composer. He released his album "Melting" in april 2019, and as he wanted a poetic song for the ending of his orchestral music album, he asked Angelina to do the vocals. Like you, I prefer the jazzy Angelina, but I can`t help to fall for her voice no matter what she sings. And as she sings "A Song for A" she even connects so impressingly well to the actually 250 years old scottish poem she is singing, and that wonderful newly created music. The lyrics was written by the scottish poet Robert Burns. Hope you will look into it, even as it is just an audio video, providing some slides. It still is wonderfull music, and stunningly well done by 12 years old Angelina. Thank you for all your Angeline reactions.

Good to see you reacting to Angelina again. This is one of my favorite Angelina covers. It was a huge hit for Lana Del Rey (almost half a billion views on KZbin), and several singers have tried to cover it with little success. It's a very hard song to sing. So much in the lower register were it's easy to be pitchy. Then Angelina gives us this. I've listened to Lana's version many times before Angelina's cover, and it is very, very good. She is a terrific performer with a unique voice. But after hearing Angelina's version, I like it better. That happens a lot with Angelina. You mentioned trying on other singers to see how it fits your style. Well, she does that a lot (over 120 covers). And remarkably, her version is often better than the original. Which has led some to refer to her as "the girl with a 1000 voices". It's hard to rank Angelina's performances, because they are all very, very good. But one of my favorites is Cole Porter's "Every Time We Say Goodbye". Thank you for your reaction. I love how you appreciate Angelina. I also like how you understand jazz. A lot of people just don't get it. Another thing I like is what you have to say about artists copying the works of others as a way of learning, both in music and painting. I copied a Van Gogh in high school art class, sure wish I could find it. Have you reacted to Angelina's version of "Valerie" by Amy Winehouse, where she runs around on Venice Beach? Whilst singing different genres is obviously non contrived on Angelina's part,she loves it,she sings it,this separates her from even the big name pros.Music producers if they do there homework will find that Angelina is the most versatile quality vocalist in the world.As such she cannot be ignored just embraced and unleashed artistically.Her team's challenge is to find a perfect match say like Finneas did for his sister Billie Eilish.I suspect Angelina may have good instincts around this as she does for her guitar players.Fingers crossed.

Angelina has a done a variety of genres. One of her earlier crossovers, around 10 of age, is with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra performing a slowed down classical version of Gershwin's "Summertime". kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaXad2eqnpanmMU It's a live indoor concert recorded around 2016. This is one of my favorite covers by Angelina. The first time that I heard Angelina sing this song I looked to see who the original artist was. When I watched Lana Del Ray's version, I loved Angelina's version so much more. It feels so much richer. I had a similar experience when I heard Angelina do Adele's A Million Years Ago. I think that Angelina has the ability to bring a song to life. Through her it becomes a living being, and touches people in their hearts. I have read so many comments from people about how moved they are by her singing. She demonstrates to us the capacity that a song has that can be expressed. It's like a Revelation. It's genuine, authentic and sincere. And as Angelina matures in her journey she takes us deeper and deeper into that exquisite world she shares with us. I like to watch Born to Die, A Million Years Ago, and Stay one after the other. And then I like to watch her performances from AGT one after the other. For more fun I pull up her version of It's A Man's World.

Valerie, thank you for your insightful reaction to this Angelina Jordan performance. It is obvious that you are a true professional who understands the technical and artistic aspects of vocal music. After 40+ years as a music educator and jazz musician, I would say to all young singers: Don’t try to sing like Angelina, until you know how to do it, especially the ones where she belts out in the high register. Take voice lessons and learn everything you can about vocal technique and artistic styling. If you try to do what she does before you know what you are doing, you could severely damage your voice and may never be able to sing again. Angelina has a gift that, comparatively, very few people in history have ever had. All of her physical vocal abilities and sense of musical style came with her at birth and because her family played music all the time as she was growing up. She is a force of nature. You can aspire to sing like her, but don’t push it. We would like to see and hear you on KZbin someday!

Love your reactions to the "Angel" with a million voices! I am 77 and for most of my life I thought there was no one who could a better job of putting feeling and emotions into a song than Elvis. Then about 7 years ago I saw and heard a little girl on Norway got Talent. She blew me away; I mean, How could a 7 year old sing like that. Over the years she has continued to improve even though with each new song I thought she could not possibly get any better. I would love for you to react to her cover of "You make me feel so young". Even though I love almost everything she has done (always love her voice, but sometimes the music is to loud), "You make me feel so young" is one of my top 4-5 most favorites!!

Many have had thoughts that it was fake or voice over(since she doesn't show her mouth while singing). 'It is a quite complex song, with a lot of lyrics and because of the key, it is not for everyone to sing. To be done to such a level of vocak quality by a 12 y old, that's astonishing. I have listened to several reactions from a lot of artists including several of yours, this one of your better reactions. A lot of reactions that people put out are, WOW with a lot of emotion and those are fun to watch. But when you break it down and describe the different tones, pitch, breathiness, etc., it me to learn and have a greater appreciation for music. When Angelina transitions to her head voice and on to the higher notes, she retains a richness of tone that Lana del Ray does not. I can't think of any singer who does, compared to Angelina. And a little more information: Angelina refused to agree to the binding agreements in AGT, but I think they were aware of this, but still wanted her to attend to bring as many viewers as possible. Then there was no way she could win. The entire acclaimed music industry knows who she is, and she was invited to sing for Quincy Jones during his 85th birthday at O2 Arena London. She has also collaborated with David Foster, Gene Simmons, Alan Walker. In addition to singing at the Nobel Prize concert 8 year old. She has also sung for Obama. This is just something from her résumé at 14 years old and the list is much longer. So it was really AGT that she was lucky that she showed up. But as I said, AGT is just a TV show and not a competition. Calling it a Talent Competition is too stupid. The only thing that was real is all the amazing talents we saw and heard. Note! She is also Norway's youngest author with published book 9 years old! Composer Nico Cartosio especially wrote a piece that he wanted Angelina to perform vocally. The thing I like the most about this video is not this video. Confusing? Let me explain. As soon as she posted this, she got feedback from her fans saying they were upset that her face was obscured by the mic screen. It was the last time she did this set up. It showed me that she really does pay attention to her fans. And as sky-high as my opinion of her was already, it immediately shot up to the moon when I saw that. She may have a firm grip on her musical choices, and tends to do the songs SHE wants, but on any other aspect of her performances she's more than willing to adapt her style to what her followers want. It was a really nice touch that we all appreciated.

This Born to Die performance is Angelina a couple of months after her 12th birthday. And speaking of trying different genres; she performs the old Sinatra classic "Fly Me To the Moon," and does it so well she was chosen to sing it for Quentin Jones at his big 85th birthday gala/huge concert (at 12). Thanks Valerie for your usual excellent reaction video & IMO this is much better than the Lana del Rey original. One of Angelina's biggest fans, Yozhik v Tumane, has put together a 1+ hour medley of 86 songs by Angelina age 3-13. Some songs that she has recorded a few times over the years are combined to show her development, & it is amazing. It also shows the great number of genre & styles she has mastered. I'm not recommending this for a reaction, since it's too long, but for you as a fan. Since you only see little parts of each song, it shouldn't disqualify you from reacting to these songs in the future since you only only see a small part of it. I just know it's the most entertaining hour I've spent in a long time & it's required viewing for any Angelina fan. This video was recommended to me by KZbin. I've watched other reaction videos to Angelina Jordan and this is the ONLY one I actually like. It's because of the mic setting, which obviously isn't auto tune, but some kind of an echo. I've not seen any of her doing jazz. I'm not a vocal coach/teacher, but I can say that all I've heard of her, until now, sounds like she either needs a vocal coach/teacher or has/had one that I simply have to question their ability to coach/teach her. PLENTY singers have started young and are great. Some are not necessarily great, but they're good or very good. Uh, actor/actress? A music video can imply acting, in the visuals, but it's not part of singing.

She starts singing since she was 1.5 years old. Started seriously practice when 3... 10 years of practice. I think she hit her 10k hours long ago... So... I guess what im trying to say is... stop evaluating her based on her age and start evaluate her as a full fledge artist... I hope she gets to keep her voice during puberty transition.

Let me be a little contrary and say I like the Del Ray version better. This is a nice cover. Also let us not overreact and saying Angelina is Mozart, he wrote his own stuff at 5 years old. Still she sings very good for her age. But there is a danger of other little girl getting exploited by their parents because they can sing is why I have some mixed feelings.

That's always a concern, but Angelina's parents are careful about this. Until now she's only performed at single events, no tours. And not even very many single events. The great majority of her songs on her channel are done like this one, at home or a simple studio. She goes to the same public school she would have if she didn't sing. It's also apparent her parents are well off financially (IIRC her dad is an executive in the oil industry), so there's no pressure there. Now that she's turned 14 she's moved to California, will be getting more into career mode. But with the level headedness we've seen from her and her parents, she won't go off the deep end.

I think the sound engineer made a little joke and planted a second voice at the same time online. In the second or third verse. It would be too boring on the whole song, but it is an interesting flavor in points. Cherry on top.
