That would be awesome since Nightwishes' cover with Tarja and Marco is the best cover I've heard. So with Floor being my favorite all time singer, it would be incredible to hear Floor and Henk do it with Nightwish and more than likely it would become my favorite cover of The Phantom of the Opera.

I loved seeing Floor outside her comfort zone. One thing I learned about her during this show is, when she covers your song... It's no longer your song. She definitely makes it her own.

Henk mentioned that he has come to enjoy distorting his voice while being on this show. But he also said that in opera, if you ever distorted your voice, you would be out of a job. This entire show Henk has been far out of his comfort zone, and it shows at times. What also shows is that he is having fun doing things with his voice as never before!

Nice reaction! What I liked about Henk throughout this series is that he didn't just showed what his strong suit is, but that he really made an effort to get out of his comfort zone and tried stuff. That growl was definitely not the original phantom. He also said he had never sang it like this, I think he enjoyed himself immensely. Floor also, but she's just comfortable singing anything! Whatever genre or language she does it like she does it all the time. Always having that connection with the audience and again so much joy, so much (often contained) power like it's easy and that just brings emotions into any song. Love her so much! 😍😍😍

What I love most about this performance is that they looked like they were having so much fun and did not try to force into some mold created by expectations arising from previous performances by other singers. This was their interpretation, which seemed to be somewhere between classical, musical theatre and metal. :-) And it is great that they did not forget about the theatre aspect of it. I loved how the band used drums to really accentuate the growing intensity of everything over there. Henk´s voice is resonant and powerful and it fitted this performance very well. Menacing. Adding distortion on the top of it was a nice touch. I am sure he will keep on improving this technique. Floor was really somewhere between classical and musical theatre in terms of technique. Drifting between them. Keeping it quite bright initially in this performance in comparision to Sierra Boggess, for instance. Sounding more innocent and frail, that is my impression. I have to say that I was at the edge of my seat as I was watching the ending - not sure how she would approach it. I mean there is the "damned" E6 note. Would she try to reach it? --- No, and proved to be wiser as she went for a lower note (D6) and sustained it for long 7 seconds and some ms. And there was much more air compression that gave the sung note a different quality. She has done something very similar in Nightwish´s "Devil and The Deep, Dark Ocean". For this song, she had to work on prolonging it as long as possible. It was very impressive and a better choice, at least, in my opinion. Thank you, Valerie, and have a great day. :-)

Every now and then something happens that's special. Unique. Once in a life time maybe. And to me, this is one of those things. Floor and Henk's voices, of course. But also their acting, their chemistry, their interaction, and what a wonderful web the timbres of their voices weaved. And then Andrew Loyd Webber's music. Toumas Holopainen's arrangement of it. The Marcel Fisser's band's performance of it. The intimacy setting, the postage-sized stage, the ambiance, the fact that it started raining mere minutes before this performance and the rain was leaking through the tent. It just all came together to create something special.

You act like they created the whole egging on part with the "sing for me Christine!", Which is said over and over. That's what every phantom does on this song. Hear tarja sing the song...and you will realise that there are higher notes on the stratosphere!!! Floor is incredible but she cant catch the high note of the song, so she did it a little lower, but ok she s still an awsome singer by using her voice in so many different ways, softly, hardly, by singing ballads, heavy metal, opera etc. It s not necessary to sing so high and to compare her singing with other singers, cause she s so talented and unique!

@@anniath4245 Well, Floor is known to be able to sing F3, so even higher than this D6. But I think she wanted to fit this note into the rocky style of the interpretation. Or maybe she wanted to stay on the safe side as she wanted a vibrato and some length in it..

The last episode was amazing. All the duets were great. But one other really stood out for me, beside the obvious one of course. Henk with Emma was very good and super emotional.

Fun fact about this performance. When they went up for thier performance, it began raining cats and dogs and thunder in the background. Almost the tent blew away. Jan the presentor closed the show very quick and they ran inside. It gave the performance more body.

Watching de beste Zangers, and each singer shows he or she is so much more then you see at first sight, so many emotions, and tears because of all the beauty. Most comments mention the singers, but what's a singer without a good band, and it has been a joy listening to the band. Certainly when you know that a number of songs were compiled together with the band, who whispered idea's and gave their own swing to it. Masters of music. this is not about, who is better, this is about pure joy, and how to put a spell on someone else by your performance. Samantha, Emma, Rolf, Tim, Ruben, Floor and Henk, you're the best, i have listened the songs over and over again, and am so greateful for your music. Phantom of the Opera was just pure magic between 2 characters. About love was a fansatic song written by Ruben, and it touches the heart, Winner is wow written by Tim, sound of silence Henks way, amazing, and I can go on and on about every song. I wonder how jan Smit as host experienced it. My personal quest is, put a smile on someone's face. Well Has anyone told you singers you are wonderful?

The great thing about "Beste Zangers" is that the musicians are free how they want to make a song sound and then you get sometimes surprises that you do not expect, that is the power of the "Beste Zangers".And to think that all participants are a few meters away so their experience comes in like a sledgehammer

4:50 Henk added distortion, which is a huge no-no among opera singers (but of course sounds more "metal"). The first time he ever did that was when he sang "The Sound of Silence" to Floor (he sang the Disturbed version, and was very inspired by David Draiman, Disturbed's vocalist) :)

I think it's been established over the weeks that Henk and Floor are on a level beyond the others, but Samantha and Emma have given us moments of greatness as well. To be honest, I didn't think much of Emma in the beginning, (KZbin phenomenon you know...), but damn, wasn't she just full of surprises ? And what greater compliment could she get than Henk picking her for his duet ? You absolutely must check that out, it's bloody awesome ! Little Emma singing up to Henk and nailing it too. We all had high expectations and yet they were all exceeded here. How much fun did they have with this? So great to see an Opera singer actual distort and having a blast with Floor who got to sing with one of her idols and nailed it. I am betting this may well be the only song she was really nervous for, singing with an idol will do that, and yet you would never know. Loved the character action as all that was missing was the dark cavern set and the costumes. That last note disturbed the FORCE in a galaxy far far away.. even Darth Vader is wondering if Floor Jansen is a Jedi knight!!!! Great reaction and sorry to see this show end and the CD from it is not enough, a DVD would be better as you had to see these two during the presentation to truly appreciate how great they were together. Great reaction as usual!!

interview with Tim Akkerman (sings with Floor "Shallow") He said "Almost nobody knew Floor in the Netherlands now everbody nows it, but with the performance with Floor we also get questions from around the world who are those people, so it has an effect ,visa versa,as an example after Floor sang my song "Winner" internet exploded, everyone around the world wanted to know who I am, but that also counts for the rest of the Singers.

This Dutch tv show is recorded in summertime somewhere on Ibiza island. People may think they're singing live (that's true) with the pre-recorded band sound. Well that's NOT true; even the band is playing live! The band is called the MF Band with Marcel Fisser as the bandleader. So, also credits to them.

There is a song which two other singers did a couple of years ago! Tania Kros (opera singer) and Tommie Christiaan (musical performer), they did a duet and it's one of my favorite duets ever. They did Barcelona (originally sung by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé). I'd love to hear your reaction about this performance. :)

You can clearly see Henk hase become a massive Floor fan. So he never distorted before this show, but how fast has he made it a feature to enhance his perfloormance ;-) And he said it again this show. Good music is good music. And flippin hummingbirds was there some good music this season.

Ibiza april 2019, recording 'Beste zangers' for the upcomming TV season 2019 and just before this final song, in this final episode of this season would start, the decor was falling apart, rain was leaking through the roof, thunder, but NOTHING could stop Henk and Floor (and the musicians) to deliver, sing, perform (play) 'The Phantom of the Opera' in a way, that even I love this song (Opera in a symphonic metal jacket) and high singing voices now. I never liked Opera, high singing voices, but Floor probably changed my music taste forever. Henk and Floor gave me goosebumps all over my body and at the end I cried. THEN, when a song is making me cry, it has to be phenominal. I don't cry easily. OMG, it was phenomenal. I've heard it over 20 times now today, can't stop. Thanks so much Henk and Floor. I didn't even know Floor and I'm Dutch. Didn't know Nightwish either. Now I do, watched them with all 3 singers and Floor is definitely the best for Nightwish. They must be so proud of their singer. Within 40 minutes after the show was over, this song went viral and was seen over a milion times!! Within 40 Minutes!! Respect, Floor and 'uncle' Henk. Thanks for this reaction vid, love your smile.

I'm guessing you haven't had a chance to watch the whole show yet (Denise uploaded her translation yesterday), but you're really in for a treat. It's another beautiful episode, but in particular Henk does a duet with Emma that is simply amazing. You might want to do a reaction to that one as well. As Floor put it, they "shot an arrow right into her heart".

Why is there no room for distorted vocals in Opera... Henk just showed that in the right song, it only adds to the power!! I love the clean version, but this goes so much deeper, darker, more suiting to the story telling. And Henk, lovely Uncle Henk, it is no surprise they have chosen him to be the Phantom for so many years, only the best get that role, and Henk most certainly is one of the very best. Their voices mix so well, its almost as if these two were made for eachother, i truly believe that after this performance, Floor became one of Henk's all-time favorite singers, he has sung this song with, just look at his eyes and the final reactions, pure love for music right there. And then Floor... omg can she sing, i actually will raise that, i have not heard this song being sung this perfectly before, normally, there is always a screech or two in the high notes, that might be on key, but that kind of hurt the ears, nothing like such with Floor, her voice and tone stays crystal clear. I already had Floor high up there, in quality of vocals, but after this season, where she was able to showcase her true potential, i've placed her into the "box of impossible skills". That box holds only a handful of people, who had "magical" voices, actually proven by science to be extraordinary, and two people in that box would be Freddie Mercury and Maria Callas, and i now rank her with them. In my world, there is nothing higher to be found, these voices will be heard for centuries to come. Noone else had, or has that ability, like Maria, Freddie, and now Floor possesses, to sing in a way that they grab you by the throat and rip out all your inner emotions, to command a stage as if they are singing just for you in a sea of people, to be born to touch the souls of people with their vocal power and presence. I'm so happy for both Henk and Floor, to have been able to give us this... showcase masterpiece of a song, because i know it made them as happy, as it did with us. Sigh.. that was the last episode, and they did go out with a bang, no an explosion of magic, they went supernova right there. Gonna have to kick the addiction that this show is, once again, only to be fully drawn in again, next season. But it is going to be a tough act to follow this year's success, they are going to need someone like Anneke van Giersbergen next. And can we just keep Uncle Henk as the one returning singer for all seasons to come please.. lol Ty for yet another lovely reaction Valerie, it's always a joy to watch you get excited about exceptional singing, while you yourself, are quite exceptional yourself (yes i've checked out your singing over the course of these react videos hehehe) This "proves" (didnt need proof really) to me how much music means to you, and to me, that is contagious and i'm loving all of it :) (I really sux at writing short posts... ah well..)

E6 note sounds thinner in comparison to D6 and the screech might come out of hitting the note in the wrong way

@@j0hnn13K Yes, it is very impressive to be able hit all those notes different styles with a great deal of precision :-) I was just mentioning it because I sometimes find the obsession with super high notes a bit weird as they are usually quite thin and so I was happy that she went rather a nicely sustained lower note

@@Immortall1408 hehehe, i get that, i personally am actually not much of a fan of high notes, because too many who do/try, are not pitch-perfect right away, and it kinda hurts my ears lol, but Floor doesnt have that, and in such cases, i can highly appreciate the skill :) And about low, that is actually more impressive because its harder than high notes, to get the same sustain and power to it.
