@Catalina Mora You know ive been anti ariana fore years, and not admiting how good singer she is placing alot of singers abow her, becuse The diva is not something my self picture agrees with alot without even knowing anything about her or any other diva. Im a dude and glitter and glamour is scary stuff. But hey i apreciate good music, and gaved her a chance (becuse i saw weeknd singing with her, if he sings with her maybe there something should listen to a couple of material from her and see ) and truly listen and it didnt took long for more to understand how Greatly underrated her. Just wow. Here i am saying stuff lika sia and Gaga are way better. I feel stupid. Ariana techniqe You just cant say anything she cant improve in anything she does its perfect and if You listen close You can actually hear shes always holding back. Becuse here voice is to good for common crowd. She wants US to view her as human, Right? I cant deny, ariana are The best pop singer out there that i know of. No doupt, so perfect. You are brilliant, I appreciate your videos so much! I've sung pretty much all my life, but didn't focus on technique, which I want to change now. Your explanations are very helpful, unlike other vocal coaches you're really able to show what the singer is doing in an understandable way. And you focus on the interesting parts and go into detail instead of just breaking down obvious things like the distinction between head and chest voice. I'm so happy KZbin recommended this video to me! I don't understand basically anything about music (didn't inherit my singer mom's talent unfortunately) but I love listening to a good professional vocal coach break down and explain what happens during a live performance and how singers use their voices. Hi John! I'm new and I really like your approach to analyzing performances. I'm hoping you will listen to BTS and give some input. The BTS fandom, ARMY, appreciates insightful, open-minded experts who know a live performance using a backing track vs lip syncing (you'd be surprised). BTS is from South Korea. They have broken the boundaries of conventional K-pop to become the world's biggest male pop group - all while singing mostly in Korean. ARMY/BTS constantly fight xenophobia, racism, toxic masculinity, regular old haters who question their skills, and press and general public who have the dismissive and misogynistic view that fans are all crazed teen girls obsessed with looks rather than talent, personality, and amazing lyrics. (I'm 44 and can attest to a wide demographic.) Most recently they have been shut out by the Peoples' Choice Awards and Grammys despite having won Best Duo/Group at both the BBMAs and AMAs... shrug. politics. Caveat: if you start reacting to BTS your channel will be discovered by other ARMYs like me and the song requests will not stop. Some people use that to begin pandering to ARMY for subscribers. We don't want that - we want fairness and honesty. The guys debuted in 2013 and they have really grown professionally since then. We like insight into their process and how they can improve in the future. Anyway, I'll shut up now. I was gonna be all brief and simple, but this is what being an ARMY does to you. We enthusiastically defend, educate, and convert. lol Here are some suggested videos: On the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. They were a little nervous. :) This was the first time they were seen on US TV sitting and singing without dancing. Big surprise because of that lip syncing stereotype. I'm not a musician, I don't sing, but I love listening to good music and good voices. I don't like many vocal coaches, because they seem arrogant and stop the video to say things that don't interest me, as I have a good ear myself, and that suffices to enjoy a good singer. But you are different. You are appreciative and respectful of a good singer, and when you stop the video to say something, you actually make sense, because you explain very well what you hear the singer do, and provide examples and analogies that make sense to me, for instance, "She sings like a drummer", and then you prove your point by showing what rhythm and instrument she follows and plays off, like the drums or the piano, and what effect that creates. That is interesting, even to a non-musician like myself. I subscribed.
