This is from the first collection of songs (there are 2 of these collections) he wrote that were inspired by his experiences hosting Blue Night Radio; listeners shared their own stories and thoughts with him and he turned that into songs. (Diphylleia Grayii is from the same collection; it was inspired by an actual flower of that name, also called the skeleton flower, whose petals become transparent when wet. The lyrics are... amazing doesn't seem adequate to me. Deeply haunting and lyrical; a masterpiece of a song.) Jonghyun wrote a bookin which he took the songs from this album and extended the stories a little, before and after the lyrics of the songs. (This is just my opinion, but I feel like "I'm Sorry" was inspired by something brought to him via Blue Night, either directly or indirectly, but the deep understanding of pain and self-blame in the song was something he was familiar with himself and that brought extra depth to these lyrics.) I've listened to this song so many times, but I hadn't yet seen this performance - thank you for bringing it to my attention. It's absolutely gorgeous, and the way he sings with his whole soul, living the song as much as singing it... this man continually breaks me wide open. There's nobody else like him.

Jonghyun's empathy and compassion shine in everything he ever wrote. Even the sexy songs. ETA: the songs from OP #1 and OP #2 are personal reflections as well as songs written with listener's stories (via Blue Night) in mind. Jjong was incredibly open about his state of mind in his music, and while we all saw it, I think few of us understood the depths of it at the time. I miss him terribly.

Jonghyun knew how to use his voice well. He knew how to alter it to fit the songs he wrote especially his slow ballads like this one and dyphillia gryal song. His live performances are awesome. Feel free to ask any questions. Taemins new album will be out at the end of the month
