Thank u for putting Nightwish on the map for a bigger audience, they really deserve it. Sad about the news about Marko tho. For me he's a big part of the group. Welcome to the Nightwish Army. We are one and we fight together. Some of our best weapons are love, empathy and respect. Our powerful secret weapon is a flower. Naturally as a Dutchwoman she's called Floor. Floor is a Dutch variant of the Latin name Flora. Flora was the Roman goddess of flowers and spring. When you listen to her you also become one. You become an ever-opening flower and start to fully realize your potential. We are so glad you're here. With us you can feel at home.

Hopefully the 2 online virtual concerts that Nightwish will be performing on the 12th and 13th March. Tickets available from their official website. Regarding Marco...he is not just stepping down from Nightwish, but from public life in general. He is 55 years old and has been a professional musician for 30+ years, so he’s done his time. One thing you haven’t discovered yet is what a great singer HE is! Two of Nightwish’ most beautiful songs are The Islander (live at Tampere) and While Your Lips Are Still Red (live at Wembley), both of which have Marco as the lead vocalist. I think you’ll be surprised by.his voice.

Can't remember if Gabriel has noted which songs they are. From this concert, Floor and Marko: Romantice, Ghost River, Ever Dream, Last Ride of the Day... Marko alone (almost) The Islander from Tampere, Kiss While you Lips are still Red from London Wembley Arena, and the most fantastic cover of Pink Floyd "High Hopes" - just to name a few

It just doesn't get any better than this! Thank you for following my suggestion regarding Gabriel's comment on "Ghost Love Score" - you won't regret it. Just wait until you get to three-part harmonies from all the vocalists in Nightwish (one of whom you have yet to see at all)! And you have yet to discover the folk side of Nightwish - the rabbit hole is deeper than you can imagine, although I think you have realised why we call Tuomas the Metal Mozart.

I'd recommend Ever Dream and Romanticide from this same show in back-to-back reactions. It's a great show of Floor's voice, but also Tuomas' emotions. Ever Dream is hopeful and fun and and full of the potential for new love. "My love it lies so deep... ever dream of me?"... and then Romanticide is the end of the relationship culminating in a "fight" vocalized by Floor and Marko with them screaming at each other through a full scale vocal run. "Dead boy's alive but without sense, a near death experience. Heart once bold, now turned to stone...".

Great Job, Lauren. You will love the Nightwish journey. This "Storytime" performance was from Wacken (2013). The performances from this venue are excellent, and you have so many to choose from during the 2013 show such as "Ghost Love Score", "Ever Dream", "Nemo", "Song of Myself" and "Last Ride of the Day". You should also listen to "The Poet and the Pendulum" from Wembley (2015), and "The Greatest Show on Earth" from Tampere (2015). if you want more of Floor Jansen, go ahead and react to her 2019 performances on the Dutch show Beste Zangers, her performance with the band EPICA, on the song "Sancta Terra", and her performance of the Aria "O Mio Babbino Caro". There are also great Nightwish performances with the original vocalist, Tarja Turunen. I guarantee you will soon become part of the Nightwish Army!!!

I'd really like you to react to JP Leppäluoto. He's a singer from Finland with a really unique baritone voice. The live performance of his cover of a Finnish song called "Mombasa" shows his range quite well, as well as his own song "Kuoppa" and "I Once Had Wings" by Dark Sarah, which is his "solo" more or less with that band. His song "Piilevää Pimeää" also really shows his ability to convey emotion. He has done a lot of work in English as well, with his first band Charon and another called Northern Kings. (One song that always gets to me is "World Lies Still", but unfortunately there aren't really any good quality videos of it, or any songs where it's just him singing in English. 😅) Sorry for rambling. It's just that I love JP's voice and music, and I haven't found too many videos of people reacting to his work, which is a shame, in my opinion.

There is another singer that I'd like to introduce you to and hopefully get your take on her performance. Her name is Paulina Villarreal. What is interesting about her is that she is officially the drummer of a band with her other two sisters; their band is called The Warning. They are a hard rock power trio self starter band out of Monterrey Mexico. Paulina does sing lead for a couple of songs while she plays the drums. However, for this performance that I'm sharing, she steps away from her kit to play the keyboard and sing. This a live performance of a song titled "Black Holes" from 2018, recorded at The Dakota Bar in Mexico: kzbin.info/www/bejne/on6bfJiHlNmBh8U . Her older sister Daniela on guitars is the band's lead singer, but this time provides backing vocals. The youngest sister, Alejandra, plays the bass and joins in at the end to harmonize with her sisters. Interestingly, when you listen to the lyrics, it's a heavy song, but Paulina smiles at the beginning when she realizes the the audience has started to sing along with her. At this time, Paulina was 15. Daniela was 17, and Alejandra was 13. Despite their young ages, they've already been performing live for 5 or so years, honing their talents and skills in small venues (like the Dakota Bar) and large metal / rock festivals. I hope that you give these sisters a try. Thanks and take it easy! 👍👌🤘✊

Simone and Floor on one stage. I think the two best voices are in power mode. This is really, really big cinema Lauren.
@thatoneguyagain22524 жыл бұрын
Hello, Lauren ! I really enjoy your videos. You have both technical expertise and enthusiasm for the subject, and you strike an excellent balance between the two, allowing neither to impinge on the other. Part of that is due to your own personality, which I find delightful. I am not in any way a singer, Well, I do make noises around the house when it's just me and the three dogs at home. I take heart in their lack of criticism of my vocal renderings, until I remember that they can't actually talk. This is how low my bar is set - my regular audience doesn't have opposable thumbs. When my roommate comes home I have to be quiet, or else I'll see both of his opposable thumbs turned down. He's a big believer in professionalism, and thinks I should leave the singing to the professionals. When I pointed out that (by his metric) the only people who should be allowed to have sex are hookers and porn stars, he went off on a rant about the crappiness of his love life. (I don't know, might "harshly overcritical" be part of the problem?) I do recognize my weaknesses. I'm pitchy as hell - never could find and hold an accurate note. I can usually cover that using effects of volume, phrasing and intonation, which locates me firmly in the Loose And Sloppy camp. In my early twenties I fronted a lot of bands that lasted no more than half an hour after the beer ran out. Technically, they would be better described as Clever Names for Bands than actual musical entities. The biggest venue I ever played was a two-car garage with a Ford Pinto parked in the other half. My shortest-lived band lasted exactly this long: "You wanna rock out?" "Okay . . . uh, naah, I left my guitar upstairs." But this doesn't really dim my enthusiasm for singing. I don't have to have any ability to enjoy it, and take an interest in how it's done. I watch home-improvement shows on TV, but that doesn't mean I have the skills or desire to restore a 19th-century farmhouse in Rhode Island. I'll never go to Space, never discover a new species, never find an elegant mathematical solution that revolutionizes Theoretical Physics. These ambitions are not why I watch the Science channel. I also can't make movies, build cars or fly a plane. I don't have to. My point? That you shouldn't think that your audience is limited to those hoping to improve their singing abilities. There are also a lot of people out here who enjoy your channel without a practical reason for watching. This doesn't mean you should dumb your content down to appeal to the merely interested. If anything, you should make your channel more technically sophisticated, to spark the imaginations of those of us with nothing else to gain. And who knows? Someday I might just dig that dusty bass guitar out of the back bedroom and figure out how to play. Stranger things have happened. if I ever do, I'll count you as an inspiration, okay?

I've watched hundreds of NW reactions. Always fun. Yours is very good. Got lucky. Hit most of your pauses (a trick with NW songs) pretty good. SOmeday Gabriel will add suggested timestamps for pauses ;-). I have a question. I am a huge opera fan also. I've always wondered if as a performer what would you give to perform in front of 82K+ fans who knew the words and were as pumped to hear you as these fans were? I've always felt it was a disservice to performers to just stand and clap and say bravo! I've heard great performances of arias that I just wanted to stand and fist pump screaming YES! Although I have yet to figure out how to react in a "Metal Way" to Puccini's Tu? Tu? Piccolo iddio! Butterfly always crushes me! BTW the South Americans are INSANE! THe Wacken crowd was subdued compare to the BA crowd here. If you want to see real crowd watch the Shoot to THrill River Platte Concert By AC/DC. This is one of the largest stadiums in the world!
