Yebba's entire tiny desk was A-MA-ZING! She is great reminds me of a cross of Adele and Jazmine s Sullivan. Her agility is ridiculous! Great reaction and analysis.

Omg LOVE to see someone discover her! I love how much you loved every detail. and yes, we can’t possibly say it enough: those background singers!! ok fr yebba is the real deal. total mastery over her voice, but more importantly to me, so *expressive* with it!! she can do incredible things without making me [personally] feel like she’s doing it to show off and, as a person, she has some serious and grave shit to write about. the rest of this concert is amazing but also there are like 20 other songs in her ouvre that are totally worth listening to as well you’ll probably get a hundred recs for her first real breakout thing, ‘my mind,’ at that’s for good reason

If someone asked me presently who are the best female non-black singers in the US…YES 🙌🏽 it’s YEBBA and a different singer with agility vocals HAILEY REINHART. I’m INDIGENOUS NATIVE AMERICAN but my grandparents lived next door to a AMAZING BLACK CHURCH ⛪️ we visited every other week and I’ve heard some INCREDIBLE SINGERS and MUSICIANS. Absolutely, you’ve got to listen to more of YEBBA because sometimes she takes you to church…I grew up in a PENTECOSTAL one myself and I say it proudly. 🙋🏻‍♀️🎼🌟🎶🎆

First time for me hearing her, too! So, thank you for this opportunity to find her. What lovely voice, and she is so agile with it! Mastery! Nice! It my mind's eye it was as if she was playing in an amphitheater of voice, running up and down the steps, sliding sideways in the rows, zigzagging elegantly all over the place. Great reaction Bethany! I like studio settings like this, where you can really hear the voice, and it's wonderful to then get some great commentary on it. I humbly suggest two others. One is Dolores O'Riordian's cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way" and the other is LiSA's performance on First Take of "Homura" (this one has an English subtitles option, which is highly recommended). I'd love to see what you thought of those, as I think they are both truly amazing performances that are not commonly reacted to by voice specialists. Thanks as always for your reactions!
