There is no falsetto in Indian singing. She is actually singing from her chest. Listen to her speaking voice - you'll find it's the same.

@user-xy2te6ev2b classical musicians singing in any other voice other than chest is usually frowned upon. Head voice and falsetto is permitted nowdays only due to influences from other music. She's from an era where chest voice was only permitted. This is just her chest voice

Check out "Shreya Ghoshal live singing in 1st Indian Idol Junior's" ... she does this live on the spot from her chair when they ask her to sing a few lines here and there. And she sounds like a recording while live!! Knocks it out of the park every time.
