None is a former member - he left 2 years ago to join the navy (sings for them). He did his part remotely, and Eli (the insane tenor) patched it all together.

They also did My Mother Told Me a few years back when J (The returning Viking) was still a regular member. Cesar with the tied back hair took his place. A lot of the tattoos and costumes are copied for this one, but they added runes spelling out VoicePlay on Cesar’s face and Geoff’s arm.

Something you might have missed is Geoff's extremely low B0 sustained for 15 seconds (with a couple of brief leaps to higher notes) at 1:46, right up until he starts singing his melody at 2:02. This is over half an octave below the low F#1 he hit at 2:27 - it's the bottom note of a 5 stringed bass, or the second white key from the bottom of a piano. He does this again at 4:45, sustaining B0 for 10 seconds until the end of the rap section.

This is epic. I've been listening to this since they posted it on their patreon a week and half ago. Geoff Castelucci will premiere his new video on KZbin April 14th. It is awesome. What's better than one Geoff! 5 Geoff's. Been listening to this as well.

Left to right.... Layne Stein - Beatboxer/Baritone. Cesar De La Rosa - Baritone/Tenor. J None - Baritone/Former Member. Eli (jelly) Jacobson - Tenor/Rock Tenor. Geoff Castelucci - Bass. Layne and Geoff are founding members from 1997 with 3 others. Eli joined in 2010. In 2011 they changed their name from 4:2Five to Voiceplay and Tony Wakim joined. Tony left in 2016 to be behind the scenes and run Pattycake Productions with Layne. J None replaced Tony in 2018 and left in 2021 to sing with the US Navy. Coming back to sing with them as much as he can. Cesar joined in 2021 replacing J None. At present its only the 4 of them. So they collaborate with various artists for the 5th. So depending on the song is who is in the video. These guys are amazingly talented and I couldn't be prouder to be on their and Geoff's patreons. Pattycake as well. They have a bunch of awesome original videos with extremely talented actors and actresses. Love Disney? Their the channel to go to.

I love that they have J returning home in this. He’s been away and now he’s coming back where he belongs. (He was a permanent member from 2017 to 2021 when the Navy recruited him. ) A lot of the costuming and tattoos are from My Mother Told Me, another Vikings saga that they did a few years back when J was still with them. Among their tattoos are runes spelling out VoicePlay that they added for this. It was filmed, not green screen, but at a studio with immense (Full wall!) led screens. Eli, rock god tenor, did the digital background. The music in the outro is the karaoke track - just the background vocals. It could be a piece on its own because it’s also gorgeous. BTW, Geoff is releasing a new one on the 14th. Being a southern girl, I think you will like it😊. 🛤️

Hi Debbie! If you loved this, you definately need to check out more of their content! 'My Mother Told Me' is the 'prequel' to this one, but they do so much - a lot of Disney medleys, (Moana, The Little Mermaid - both with Rachel Potter), 'We Don't Talk About Bruno (with Ashley Diane), as well as songs as diverse as 'If I Were A Rich Man/Girl', 'Tennessee Whiskey' and more recently, Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters'..! Geoff also has a lot of solo stuff like 'Sixteen Tons', 'The Headless Horseman' , etc..!! 😘

Thank you for listening through the patrons-that music is a bit different than the official song but it’s also amazing. There are no instruments but there was a little magic in the mixing in post. I wouldn’t mind hearing a track without the effects-I’m sure they crushed it just vocally. But the mix added a dimension that takes it OTT. Voiceplay-Right to left: Geoff, Eli Jacobson (rock god), J.None-we need him back in the group full time, but the Navy has him or now, Cesar de la Rosa-took us all by surprise-he usually has this lovely soft voice, so the grit was unexpected, and Layne Stein, the man who did this arrangement, also a BOSS beatboxer, and too rarely treats us to a little violin. Kudos to Alfredo Austin for the terrific rap lyrics, which are not in the original. @MiracleofSound (aka Gavin Dunne) wrote this song for Assassin’s Creed. There are lots of versions on KZbin and they’re all great, probably because the original material is amazing. I notice Gavin has seen and commented on this now-he gave it 10 alehorns out of 10! Anyway, great reaction! I hope you do more Voiceplay! Great reaction!

Isn't this pretty much the very definition of "epic"?!? The costumes and facepaint they are wearing all hearken back to their earlier Viking song, My Mother Told Me. Cesar (who wasn't in that video) is even wearing the cloak that Jose Rosario Jr. wore in the video. "Miracle of Sound" is the name of the "group" (1 guy, actually) who wrote and originally performed the song for the video game Assassin's Creed - Valhalla. It makes the title VoicePlay used a little confusing, in my opinion, since unless you know the video game or do some research (like me) you don't really know what that even means.

Same everything except Cesar replacing Jose Rosario Jr, wearing his robe and Geoff's top. Geoff is wearing the fur he had on his shoulder but as a top. And Eli (jelly) has ties put in his top.

I didn't heard this version so far and I think they got a little bit too much. Sometimes less is more. I definitely didn't enjoy it. However, they are amazingly talented group, and I hope they won't take this "hollywood" style anymore. Sorry 👐
