Everyday I look for a reaction from someone who has never seen Voiceplay. You did not disappoint with your reaction. You will find that Voiceplay has a very loyal fanbase. In my opinion (and I'm always right) they are the best! From left to right, Layne Stein, beatboxer, Cesar de la Rosa, baritone, J None, baritone, former member, Eli (ellie) Jacobson, tenor, Geoff Castellucci, bass. Their arrangement are usually done by Layne or Geoff, traditionally they each take a month, the other the next. They used to tour extensively, until Covid shut the world down. Since then they have been perfecting their studio work. For this one, Arrangement - Layne Stein, Video - Creative Design, Direction, Unreal Engine, Virtual Production, and Editing - Eli Jacobson, Additional Lyrics by Alfredo Austin Usually the arranger does the storyboard, production, editing, custume and set design. Eli has been doing their lighting for some time and has just become a technical wizard, as you see here. Suggestions for Voiceplay: Hoist the Colours from Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - knocked the socks off of a lot of reactors I Can't Make You Love Me - will break your heart Metallica's Nothing Else Matters - amazing! Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay!

Yup. There is no better explanation! The only thing I can add is: always expect the unexpected with voiceplay! I got the same opinion. All of the a cappella groups are incredibly talented, but voiceplay is the best

Loved your reaction, thanks! They wrote the rap section, and J None is the singer who rapped. He USED to be with the group, but left to sing in the navy. He's back with them when he can, filming on leave. Writing additional sections is new for them - in their last performance, Golden Hour, they added a new bridge. Geoff, the bass, also added an amazing bridge to his new cover of Man of Constant Sorrow, so it seems we can look forward to more personalization of their covers.

@aurora Actually a friend of theirs, Alfredo Austin wrote the rap.

It's not new for them they did write their own rap for their cover of superstion 2 years ago. Or at the very least they sang lyrics that weren't in the original.

Yes, it was written especially for that cover, too. Alfredo Austin again. I thought that one was very clever in the way he used so many ‘superstitions’ in it.

J. None, who did the rap, is a former member of VoicePlay. He left to sing with the US Navy, but comes back when he can. VP is a wonderful, fun, and creative band, and any song you pick will bring joy. That said, some of my favorites are Nothing Else Matters, Running Up That Hill, In The Hall of The Mountain King, Something Just Like This, We Don't Talk About Bruno...ok' I'll stop now!

I am new to your channel but LOVE VoicePlay and wanted to see your reactions. I loved Pentatonix first, then found Home Free (They are from my home state) and then VoicePlay. I love all of them for different reasons. All of them are extremely talented artists. Thanks for listening to VoicePlay and welcome to the family!

When Geoff Castalucci hits those lows...well, Dominika won't need a Harley to get the jollies! LOL! I LOVE seeing the different reactions and takes on the same song from people everywhere. Especially when it is a song that resonates to a primal level to my heart.

Great reaction you two. Left to right.... Layne Stein - Beatboxer/Baritone. Cesar De La Rosa - Baritone/Tenor. J None - Baritone/Former Member. Eli (elly) Jacobson - Tenor/Rock Tenor. Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci - Bass. Layne and Geoff do all the arrangements, editing, productions on their videos. Eli does lighting. Cesar is the newest member. They are in Orlando Florida. They all use to perform at Disney World and/or Universal Studios. They are known as both The Theater Kids of Acapella and The Kings of Halloween because of their love of dressing up and performing. They have a ton of videos to choose from going back 8 years and you can't go wrong with any of them. They're all awesome. They're very diverse in what genre they do. They do anything. Pop, rock, opera, game themes, Disney, Broadway, rap, and the list goes on. Geoff has his own channel where he sings solo non Acapella. He usually clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies. He also has a ton of awesome videos to choose from. His latest is Man of Constant Sorrow.

J was a permanent member from 2017 to 2021 when the Navy recruited him to front one of their bands. I love that they have him staring out across the water at the beginning. He’s been away and now he’s coming back (at least for this. Later that evening he attended a wedding - his own!). Previously they did a cover of My Mother Told Me (also associated with the video game Assassin’s Creed). The makeup and a lot of the costuming is from MMTM. Among their tattoos are runes spelling out VoicePlay. Layne (beatboxer ) did the arrangement and Eli (bald rock god) the amazing backgrounds. It was filmed, not green screen, but at a studio with immense (Full wall!) LED screens. Unfortunately, the guys were in leather and furs and the air-conditioning was not working.🥵 I am not a big fan of rap generally but this adds a lot to the piece. I really like that not only does it refer to Valhalla, but it also has a few nods to the fact that J is currently in the US military. I had captions on and I had to rewind it to read those captions because he is so fast.! The music in the outro is the karaoke track. The percussion and background vocals could be a piece on its own because it’s also gorgeous. Subscribing in hopes that you will do more VoicePlay and also check Geoff’s solo channel.

So happy you have finally been introduced to VOICEPLAY!!!!!!! They have so many songs!!!!!! I would suggest “Queen in 5 minutes”, Oogie Boogie man”, “hoist the colors” just for starters. If you decide, Geoff Castellucci (the bass singer) has his own channel. A good one to start with on his own channel would be “ain’t no sunshine” great reaction!!! I hope you enjoy Voiceplay as much as I do..

What a great reaction! So excited for you on your new VoicePlay journey!! They won't do a song unless they can find a way to make it a little different and still honor the original! You're in for a lot of fun!

Yes!!! _Finally_ you get to VoicePlay, my joint favourite a capella group (along with Home Free). Others have filled you in with their background already, so I'll just add my voice to the suggestion of _Nothing_ _Else_ _Matters_ next, followed by _Hoist_ _the_ _Colours._ But they are another "you can't really go wrong" band, so if you see one you fancy, go for it! My only caveat would be to avoid _Daddy_ _Sang_ _Bass_ until you've had a chance to get to know who's who because the video hits harder that way. Enjoy!

I was waiting for you to listen to Voiceplay sooooo much! I was so sure you would enjoy it! It was a lot of fun seeing you during the song, I hope you will react on some of their other songs. I would like to recommend Hoist the colors (which is a Pirates of the Caribbean song), My Mother Told Me (which is the so called "prequel" of Valhalla Calling, because the used the same set and design) and The Dragonborn Comes. But there are soooo many good songs!!!

VoicePlay always take a song to a new level. And the same is true of Geoff Castellucci, the bass, who has his own channel of low bass covers, but not acapella. J.None can do it all, he has a great voice with a wide range and we have heard him rap once before with VoicePlay. Welcome to the "theatre kids" of a capella. I warn you though, they are addictive.

The original Miracle Of Sound messaged Voice Play & said " well done lads. Definitely one of the more creative cover I've heard. I rate it 10 raised alehorns out of 10 ". Voice Play has a new one coming out Friday. April 28th they are getting more & more recognition from other original artist that produce video games. The composer for the music in the Halo video said that Voice Plays cover of the Halo song ( never any words ) was the best cover ever. They truly did the music justice & it was amazing. They have also done a cover of The Dragonborn Comes Skyrim from the video game. There are others too..

Wow, this is quite the video to be an introduction to VoicePlay! They are another amazing a cappella group, sometimes referred to as "the theater kids of a cappella" because they will sometimes (as they did here) include costumes, makeup, sets, lighting, etc. - they make mini-musicals more than the usual music videos. But they can also just sit or stand and perform, as they did in one of their latest offerings, Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. Hope you continue to react to VoicePlay - you won't be disappointed! And with VoicePlay, you're also introduced to Geoff ("Jeff") Castellucci, their bass singer. He not only performs with VoicePlay, he also has a solo channel he started during the lockdown (when VoicePlay couldn't perform). In this song, he only hits a B0 several times, with amazing sustain times - and a B0 is the 2nd lowest note you can play on a piano!

Thank you for a great reaction to Voice Play. Please give us more reactions to Voice Play. Since you already have a lot of reactions to Pentatonix & Home Free would you please do more Voice Play videos of ? Also do some of Geoff Castallucci's solo cover songs ? Loved your reaction. This song has given even long time reactors mental breakdowns while watching. If you're interested in vikings then you'll need to check out My Mother Told Me, its the prequel to this song. This is a very deep, fun, empowering rabbit hole to be in. Well worth the trip. And you should also check out Geoff's (Jeff) chanel, another rabbit hole to dive right into. Enjoy 🎉

What is really cool is that Vikings did something similar to rap. Not quite, but close. The fierceness the guys put into it is wonderful. Voiceplay delivers every time. Love song (Golden Hour), Viking song, these guys got it. JNone, the rapper, was a Voiceplay member who left to join the US Navy. He collaborates with Voiceplay when he is on leave.
