The original Star Trek was sold to the network as a space western kind of concept. Firefly gave us space pirates, so yeah, it’s time for some space shanties!! I want a series made around this concept as well! Great reaction!

It's a bit hard to explain without knowledge of the game, but in short this is a space sea shanty! It's part of an optional (but very cool) side quest. The player is summoned via Railjack (space ship) to investigate Corpus (an enemy faction) convoys scouring through space anomalies. They are intercepted upon arrival by a Corpus captain named Vala, who is the sole survivor of a previous attack by a third party rescue ship called The Tempestarii. Before being rescued herself, Vala had drifted through space among the remains of her dead crew, believing that her "sisters" were singing to her. When she is finally rescued, she seeks revenge against the Tempestarii for the death of her crew. Because the Tempestarii is being controlled by a Warframe who is trying to complete their final rescue mission, the player assists The Tempestarii in fending off Vala and sending her back into deep space. This is Vala's shanty, that she sang (and imagined was being sung to her).

This is such an ear-bug! The song as it was originally performed was considerably slower tempo, and was pretty much entirely done by female singers - lead and backing vocals both, which makes the repeated "sisters" lyric make a lot more sense. The original and most of the covers have a definite Celtic flavor, but I guess Geoff decided to go for a more "rock anthem" type of arrangement.
