Thank you for a wonderful reaction. I'm right there with you on how personally involved I feel when these guys don't get the love they deserve in the views. I think it highlights just how tough it is for independents to get the notice and clicks they deserve. As an acapella fan (and having done a little of it myself) I really feel the differences between the groups and, while I always recognize the talent of the big three or four groups, I just can't help but put VoicePlay up on a different pedestal because they do it all from arranging to production, and everything in between, themselves. They don't have the resources behind the other groups but they produce top quality content from the first note to the last image on the screen. So I appreciate talented people like you telling their story through your reactions and encouragement of their work. I wish you all the success in growing your own following.

This is such a lovely arrangement. Like BUTTER! So emotional. I love the opening which treats us to such rich jazz chords, and yet it doesn't have a jazz feel. It's just lush and full with the lightness of Cesar's grippingly emotional sweet tone. Then EJ's tone changes the intensity and he takes more liberties with the melodic line with little runs and flips, and Eli brings even more intensity as the whole thing builds and amplifies. The syncopations, the dissonances resolving so lusciously, the dynamics are just brilliant, the whole thing is aurally so much more satisfying than the original, and I LOVE Bonnie Raitt!

Beautiful! Another VoicePlay song that certainly will stir one’s emotions is their version of “True Colours”. It’s amazing! And Eli totally moves my heart in VoicePlay’s collab with Kurt Hugo Schneider in “Waving through a window” (from the musical Dear Evan Hansen”), on Kurt’s channel.

I cannot speak for the rest of the ever growing multitude of reaction video addicts but, for me, I first became infatuated with a good reaction because it allowed me to once again FEEL, and that word is of utmost importance, to FEEL (what I can only describe as) the spiritual experience I once felt when first hearing something magical such as this cover. To be able to re-live that moment of discovery, wonder, awe and finally pure unmitigated JOY one can experience when they let go of the worlds constraints and allow your spirit to listen. Obviously this alone is enough to motivate me in seeking out new reactions and new reactors. What has been a bi-product of this journey is an even deeper appreciation and a more comprehensive understanding of not only arrangement choices but also of the tremendous amount of pure artistry that can be found in even the simplest performance. I have been a singer all life and from a very young age music has been an integral part of my life and because of that I've always considered myself fairly well versed in vocal performance, ensemble performance and even musical theatre. What I've been delightfully shown, however, in so many reaction videos, by qualified and insightful reactors such as yourself, is that there are so many more reasons to appreciate a piece of musical art. What you have, Jenn, is the best of what I consider to be two types of reactors. One one hand your competence in this area is evident and you continue to point out or bring light to things I'd not yet discovered as well as things I WOULD NOT have discovered at all. On the other hand, you do all that with the same wonder, reverence and humility as any of us might feel, keeping you (for lack of a better word) accessible to the rest of us music lovers regardless of the level of our experience or formal education. For most of us (I suspect), what we seek first in a reaction is the opportunity to re-live the moment when we first heard a given selection. What keeps at least me coming back is a reactor who is insightful, and confident enough to allow themselves to 'feel' in the moment while all the time remaining someone I could feel comfortable geeking out with about music or theatre (or anything for that matter) because that reactor, in this situation YOU Jenn, has never made me feel intimidated or set apart by any differences in knowledge or skill level. In a nutshell, Jenn, I wanted to thank you for continuing to bring me both Joy as well as giving me ample opportunity to cry again if so moved. Keep doing what you are doing, and I wish you nothing but continued and increasing success in doing it because WE'RE HERE FOR IT! (okay I've probably used all my words for the next 10 days so I'll stop there. xD Just wanted to get that off my chest)

As I mentioned in the first premier for Voice Play week, once you got to this video Cesar was going to break your heart. I love Cesar's voice, I have for awhile now, and have been impressed with him as an artist, and in general, for some time now. His personality comes through so much in each of Voice Play's offerings, fun, cheeky, sassy, a bit silly sometimes, but never hurtful. Then to have him come along and show us just how much someone hurt him, no, not hurt him, crushed him...My Gods, how do you NOT feel that? Ej is just redamndicilous, as always. Voice Play, Cesar in particular, set a tone and Ej's like, "Oh, we're causing depression today? Okay, I can do that!" ( Does it ever make anyone else mad, just how insanely talented these people all are? 🤣) Eli...*smh* Is there a more metal way to tear someone's heart out of their chest? If so, I don't want to hear it. And Lane...WTF, man! Arranger, videographer, director, editor, living 808, actor, all around good guy, funny...and can sing, too? Come on, bro! Leave something for the rest of us, will ya? Then we have Geoff. *sigh* Nobody has that kind of time, so...moving on! Not only do we get awesome vocals from VoicePlay, they've become great at telling the story of the song through their video. They filmed group shots but Geoff decided not to use them. Each guy being alone in a room tells the story better. Notice they don't even make eye contact with the camera. They're isolated. Heartbroken. Even more poignant is that Cesar, who suggested this song, is single while all the other guys are married. I haven't wanted to reach through the screen and console someone this much since Geoff did Ain't No Sunshine. Geoff said he hadn't wept this much editing a video since the last one with J. For me, music and entertainment are an escape from the sad things going on in the world (and sometimes my life). They’re a way to get something more positive going on in my head. This may be my favorite song of theirs! It is so moving! I’m recently divorced after 22 years and I begged him to try and work it out, so this hits home to me. 💔 I just found Voiceplay earlier this month and was smitten immediately (especially by Geoff 🥰) I’m working my way back. ❤️🩹

Great reaction, as always, Jen! It's so much fun to watch you analyzing something that is hitting hard emotionally. I didn't mean to sound mean, but you know what I mean, right?

I actually put a trigger warning at the front of my reaction as I knew the subect matter could affect viewers and I had already seen the thumbnails of some reactors which looked like they struggled with this one.

Hi Jennifer, please do a reaction video of Voice Plays latest cover song In The Hall Of The Mountain King. You won't believe what they have done with this classical orchestrated piece. Listen to the original symphony version first & you will see how Voice Play used their voices for this one.

Usually your videos are so analytical. It's not often we see you react emotionally to a song.

You wish you were talking to someone? How about with someone? A reaction and analysis collab with another KZbinr would be really neat!

Have you ever heard this song covered by Teddy Swims? It will blow your mind.

Those glasses and some, more like lots, of hairspray would suit you well in a certain musical set in Baltimore, Hon. 😁

I just read this back and realized that it was a bungled attempt at humor that actually sounded terrible. I do apologize as that was not my intention.
