VoicePlay does a little of everything from rock/metal to Disney to orchestral pieces. They did "In The Hall of the Mountain King" last year for Halloween. That's an orchestral piece with no words (even if you think you don't know it, you do. You'll know it when you hear it). They're so creative and inventive. They just dropped "Hellfire" today from The Hunchback of Notre Dame and it's absolutely fantastic! About the movie, Nightmare Before Christmas, I always recommend watching that. It's just a good movie and the music is crazy good. I usually watch it at least once every year for Halloween and Christmas. ❤

I’m so glad you enjoyed this cover. Voiceplay has dozens of insane covers and I’d love for you to discover them. If you are looking for something awesome for spooky season let me recommend In the Hall of the Mountain King. You may not recognize the title but you’ve definitely heard the song. Plus, just look at the thumbnail and you’ll see what an awesome ride it will be

Considering how much you enjoy nightmare before Christmas, Geoff, the lead singer here, is releasing Jack's Song from the same film tomorrow. Voiceplay and Geoff both do a Halloween theme every October, and they are always incredible.

One of the big 3 acapella groups , with Home Free and Pentatonix. They do a lot of covers, this one originally from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Bass singer Geoff Castelucci and beatboxer Layne Stein do most of the arrangements. Geoff''s wife ,Kathy, is the production manager. The bald tenor is Eli Jacobsen. Those 3 are still with the band. Earl Elkins Jr. and J.None have left the group. Although J .None joined the Navy and occasionally guests with them when on leave. Cesar De La Rosa replaced Earl. The 5th spot is currently a guest singer spot. Geoff also does covers on his channel. For more VoicePlay: covers on Aerosmith's Dream On and We Don't Talk About Bruno from Disney's Encanto to start. For solo Geoff; covers of 16 Tons, ,and for Halloween, Monster Mash.

You absolutely should watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas" again. It's a classic, that can be watched for either or both the Halloween and Christmas seasons! Regarding VoicePlay, the bass singer who was the main character in this one, Geoff Castellucci, solo covers "Monster Mash" in a music video that I'm sure that you would absolutely love, and it's perfect for Rocktober!

In the movie, they captured Santa and had him tied up while Oogie Boogie, who was basically a burlap sack with a face filled with spiders and snakes, fluttered around Santa while singing this song. Geoff (pronounced like Jeff) Castellucci is the bass who sang lead here, so his rendition has more bass notes than the original. VoicePlay's and Geoff's channel have lots of Halloween treats!

Voiceplay is so versatile, they can do any genre, musical theater, rock, pop, country, Disney, orchestral, heavy metal. You name it, they've done it. They don't always go full costume and makeup but their music is singularly amazing. I've never seen this movie, but it didn't matter, because they are so talented. They are totally independent, no label, no manager. Their arrangements are usually done by Geoff Castellucci, bass and Layne Stein, beatboxer. Eli (ellie) Jacobson, the bald tenor has also done a few of their arrangements. Geoff and Layne switch off month to month, Eli jumps in occasionally. Whoever does the arrangement, does everything, production, editing, camera, set, costume and makeup decisions. Eli has been doing their lighting and special effects for some time. The final mix is done by Ed Boyer, he also works with Home Free and Pentatonix. They have complete artistic control because they are independent which also means they get less publicity than they deserve. They just did Creep and then Drunken Sailor. From the sublime to the ridiculous and genius all the way. Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay!

They did 4 songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas, This Is Halloween, What's This?, Kidnap The Sandy Claws, Oogie Boogie Song and Geoff is releasing Jack's Lament tomorrow. Voiceplay released Hellfire today from The Hunchback of Notre Dame as mentioned by other commenters. They will probably have a song in any genre you could think of Disney to Metallica.

As many times as I've watched this video, I can't get over just how unlike himself Geoff sounds here. His skill and his astounding range carry over to his other work, but it just doesn't sound like his voice! ETA: Please do check out more VoicePlay--they have too many masterpieces to list, but Hoist the Colours, Valhalla Calling, We Don't Talk About Bruno and Nothing Else Matters are some must-sees; just about anything from the past couple of years is stellar, and they simply don't make bad music.

Yes, PLEASE, check put all things VoicePlay! Geoff has his own separate channel and one of his videos teaches people how to sing Bass. AND THEN he has a whole bunch of really cool covers, not all of which are spooky. He covered 'Bear Necessities' from The Jungle Book. A few years ago he covered the Hawaiian Christmas song, 'Mele Kalikimaka', which turned out great!

A cappella is a relatively small (compared to more traditional genres) style of music. This group, along with Pentatonix and Home Free are the three "top tier" a cappella groups performing these days. The "best" is completely a personal preference. You sked about checking them out more in the future. You should!! Take the suggestions you receive and pick something you know. Then... expect the group covering that song to 'make it their own" while respecting the original artist. VoicePlay's "We Don't Talk about Bruno" is a popular cover. Fo Home Free, try "End of the Road" by Boyz 2 Men. For Pentatonix, try "Sound of Silence," or ANY of their Christmas music. One more vocal group that's a little different than those three is Voctave. They usually have 11 members, and they are (in my opinion) tha best vocal group out there. Anyway, if you DO go down the a cappella rabbit hole I don't think you can go wrong. Best of luck!!
