I too was a REMF but never sympathized with the VC. I did NOT join any anti war group when I came home. I am 80% disabled also from the effects of Agent Orange on my health. I only saw combat once but will never forget the fear, noise and the light show. The GI Bill and the VA have been wonderful to me. I joined the Army Reserve a few years after I got home, went to military schools and had a great career along with lots of travel and opportunities. Being drafted ended up being a blessing to me in the end.

Thank you for your service. Sir you should contact an attorney and get your 100% disability rating. You could probably get it. I deal with severe ptsd myself. As my health steadily deteriorates my PTSD gets worse because I can’t sleep. I avoid social situations especially crowds. It’s an awful disease. I have a service dog that takes care of me. It was a weird time, thinking back, being a teen in the last half of the '70s. We'd all have long hair, smoke weed and listen to the music, but at the same time all my friends and I would wear USGI army field jackets from the local Army Navy store.

I found a touching movie ❤ Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam It's on KZbin, authentic footage and the letters are narrated by many familiar voices. So many videos of our so very young vietnam soldiers in action and horsing around.
