The power source of the Iron Giant is the drum of liberation, which carried by Joyboy. During the ancient time, Iron Giant was commanded to attack Mariejoa while the previous Joyboy was dueling with Imu. So, when Joyboy was defeated by Imu, the power source of Iron Giant shuts down, which leads to the failure of attacking Mariejoa and the failure of saving Joyboy. This is why the Iron Giant apologizes to Joyboy in the recent chapter.

That's when it ran out of power. It probably had been looking for them for centuries but by the time it got to them had nothing left to give. Or you could be right there was probably someone who found that fruit awakened it and was later killed, hence why the gorosei try to kill them off before anyone else can awaken it.

i believe the robot is basically a foot soldier of the ancient kingdom destroyed by the 20 kingdoms that would become the world government, the fact that the ancient kingdom was , in my own opinion, filled with people of the will of d and other users may mean why their technology and things were a danger, the will of d and the people of the ancient kingdom were not corrupt or were bad, they were good natured people who basically wanted to do good things for the world , specially joyboy , this giant robot must be some sort of avenging warrior who wanted revenge on the programs of someone from the old ancient kingdom of 900 years ago on the behalf , since the celestial dragons are the decesndants of the 20 creators of the kingdoms who became the world government it would make sense why he would be trying to attack marie jois , my thinking is that it did it in a revenge attempt for what happened in the void century and the ancient kingdom , it was trying to make a fuss of the world government and kill all celestial dragons to strip them from power and topple the ones who govern the world in order to free the planet of the influence of the 20 kingdoms or maybe some other reasons , who knows

I have a theory about Joyboy 900 years ago. There lived a man who could bend and twist his body and perform miracles. He had no name he had no origin. The strongest of them led the coup and called themselves Imu. Nika fled to an unknown island and fell into despair. Using the last bit of energy he had left, he wrote a message on giant stone cubes and scattered them to the four seas. And then he passed away in tears. And with his passing appeared one last fruit. The Nika Fruit. The last fragment of Nikas will. The reason everyone keeps saying sorry to joyboy is bc those people had a hand in his downfall. They were tricked into thinking he was a tyrant when in reality he wasnt.
