The idea behind it was to convey weight, speed and cutting sharpness. But not to highlight just the darkness of her, but to make you feel strength and core of Ruby. The composition has a simple and contrasting structure that alternates between the bridge with a riff using an eight-string guitar, and a pattern of overlapping notes. Basically, my personal theory for songs that emphasize weight and speed is to use simple chord work and instrumentation. However, the beauty and mystery of the parallel major chord used in the B section's turnaround adds an important element to Ruby, and as a result, to RWBY: Ice Queendom as a whole.

I was fascinated to hear this song in the first episode of RWBY:Ice Queendom, I like that it keeps the rock aesthetic, especially in the 1:10 minute with "Spill forth, discharge, and rampage" "This frantic sharpness of energy".

that line always makes me think of Ruby awakening to her Silver eyes powers after witnessing Pyrrha's murder. because it describes what her eyes did silver energy spilt forth in the shape of silvered wings discharged into a wave of divine light cut Cinder up and rampaged outward turning the Wyvern and any nearby Grimm into statues.

There's just really something with the word "rampage" in association with Ruby and the way it's sung that sounds very cool.
