@@theoldfilmbloke - Sadly, the many American accents have been being homogenized for a half century or more, from the Deep South to New England. As a former broadcaster my accent is sort of "BBC American". :-)

Thank you! Found this old camera in my grandmas things after she passed and I thought it doesnt work, but as you said, it needs to have a film inside for the shutter to work, so Ill order one and hopefully it will give some result :)

Thank you for sharing this! A friend gave this to me as a photography gift and I've been using it on and off until recently when it became my only medium format camera (I'm a 35mm user generally). To get more accurate scale focusing, I focus with my Leica, check the range info, apply it to my Bessa66 and voila... I'm focused (presuming there's no change in distance to the subject!

Nice old folder, looks like the Voigtlander equivalent to Zeiss's Nettar, but more sophisticated. It will be interesting to see how the photos turn out.

Hello, I have a camera just like yours, with one slider on the back for the frame counter. Most of the others I've found on youtube have two sliders, one on the front and one on the back, working opposite of eachother I believe. My problem is that I've went through 16 (dummy) exposures, the counter went back to 0, the winding knob rotates freely, but the shutter lever is stuck. The counter slider is also stuck. I can't get the thing to start counting again and allow me to press the lever. Do you have any idea if this is normal and I am just missing something? Or is it broken or perhaps did I break it? Thank you.

I managed to sort it out, I believe something was just corroded or hopefully just sticky from not being used. It eventually allowed me to press the slider after gently applying pressure in all directions to it and the rod it's attached to, for a while. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about in the future. I'm just wondering about iso/asa. What speed film should I run through this camera? There's no setting for it

As the fastest shutter speed is 1/300th and I reckon it is more like 1/200th you should use 100 ASA / ISO film for most subjects.

I have 2 older versions of the Bessa 66, your one looks much newer. There is no viewfinder at all on mine.

Strange -- how do you compose the pictures with no viewfinder ?

@@theoldfilmbloke There is a square metal frame that you can pop up, this will give you a very rough idea of what you are looking at and you set the distance scale on the lens from there.
